Whether you believe the game lived up to expectations or not, the thing is selling through the roof: (courtesy of Etoychest.com)
Microsoft Game Studios today announced that Fable has had an amazing start at retailers across North America in its first week of release, breaking records and selling through more than 375,000 units (grossing roughly $18.7 million U.S.). Fable sets the stage for a spectacular holiday season for Microsoft Game Studios by paving the way for titles such as Halo 2, Blinx 2 and MechAssault 2. Sales records are being broken at retailers throughout North America: the game was EB Games' biggest first-week sales for any Xbox title ever; it broke Game Rush's first-day sales record for any game; it is the No. 1-selling overall title on any platform last week at GameStop and is the fastest-selling Xbox game at EB Games Canada for the first week. Fable even grossed more money than the No. 1 box office movie last week, Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow.

I heard Ninja Gaiden dominated its first too weeks, but has slowed down a lot since then.
And that record will be utterly destroyed by Halo 2, even if the game flops. I mean... damn... like it or not, Halo 2 is gonna break all kinds of records.
I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

I didn't hear that about Ninja Gaiden. But sure, Halo 2 will blow the doors off of all the Xbox records. Did you hear that Sony announced yesterday that Gran Turismo 4 would be offline only? I wonder if that will hurt them in interest & sales...

Yes---yes you should!! Despite what everyone says "Fable" is an extremely solid game. Peter Molyneux dug a hole for himself when he said it was going to be the "greatest RPG of all time". Dont play this game with that mindset. It will be extremely dissapointing if you do so. The combat is fun and easy to get into. The story is quite intriguing and during certain scenes quite excellent. There is a MASSIVE amount of content in this game though much of it seems to be like well implemented gimmicks. I'm not a gaming addict so, to me, this is by no means a "short game" but dont go by my time guage. "Fable" is by no means perfect and you will quickly learn its flaws but you will be having a lot of fun doing so.
...to follow up on the last comment, FABLE is a great game! Great details and the action on using magic is tricky until you get familiar with using it. TONS OF FUN
