Well of course it brings up many many good points, but I bought the 360 system, and it's proved amazing for me time and time again.
True maybe some people will not be able to play the old xbox games, but that's why they should save their old consoles and have a 360 to play all the new great games they have out now like Assassin's Creed and Halo 3.
It's so amazing.

I’ve heard that GTA IV is coming out on the 360 as well as the PS3, that makes the option of buying a 360 slightly more appealing to me, especially if it’s dramatically cheaper then a PS3.

I've just come here to say that the 360 has a bunch of absolutely killer games, not available elsewhere, so why not buy it?

And I'm a dyed in the wool Ninty nut. But I go where the games are, and the wonderful Assassin's Creed, for one, ain't showing up elsewhere but the box!

Actually, it's on the PS3 as well, and my friends are pissed about it because "the world could be so much bigger if it were exclusively for the PS3!" It's a cool game and all, but I don't understand how you can hide amongst several priests with giant daggers (and such) strapped to your back. I was watching one scene where a guard was beating an innocent priest while the main character watched. I joked that all the idiot had to do was look up and he'd have his assassin. It's the ONLY "priest" with weapons on his back! Big Grin

Its the future of gaming, being online, me, millions of users & games developers cant be wrong?

The point of the article was that you'd have to pay piles to use the 360 fully. That's the same for every console, though.
IMO, suit up for a good computer and just play on the PC if you don't know too many people that have consoles. The PC isn't dead YET as a gaming platform...it's better anyway.

Ripping with the MP44 in COD4. Red tiger FTW.

The Xobox 360 is very popular an d succesful with title games as Call Of Duty series, Assassins Creed, Halo series, GOW series, and many more its got the games, not saying that other consoles dont, but 360 is an awesome system and its holding ground.

Since its release, this console has built up it name while other consoles have been dramatically left behind. I should know, I work at those electronic stores in the dept where they ask every day "Is the wii in?". I'm quiet jaded by the idea of the wii, but some people say I shouldn't talk. I don't even own any recent game consoles. But by looking at the row devoted to the xbox & xbox 360, it is a far better selection of anything.

Now I have to wait at least four weeks before I can play my XBOX 360 again because that is the time that microsoft said it would take for them to repair it and send it back. Meanwhile I am stuck with my PS3 and Wii which I only have a few games for and all of them except for one I have beaten. I now have to spend another $40 for NBA 2k8 on the PS3 unless I find a used copy for less because I was starting to get really good at 2k8 on the XBOX right before my 360 died and I can't wait four weeks if I want to continue to improve my skills. One good thing out of this is that Microsoft said they will fix the red light problem for free which means they aren't stupid enough to try and hoodwink 360 owners out of their money even after their waranty is up for a malfunctioning bug that was clearly the fault of Microsoft (not the gamer's) for poor product testing. But as long as microsoft fixes the machine and returns it to me as promptly as they said they would, I will still be very happy with Microsoft's 360 (assuming that the machine doesn't end up failing again before the next future generation consoles arrive).

I have had friends that have had the Red Ring of Death and they got their xbox's back within two week.

p.s. - They will send you an xbox once they get yours. it will not be your original xbox, it is someone elses that they have already fixed. One of my friends got the Red Rings and when he shipped his in they sent a new one. not a used fixed one.

p.s.s - if you cant wait that long you can go to a rent-a-center and rent one for about 20 bucks a month. not a bad deal if you really like to play.

His whole Topic is BS. Xbox is not the only thing pushing for HD. your cable company will urge you to get a HDTV. Your Dish or Directv will urge you to get a HDTV. all of the lated movies are coming out in HD (HDDVD or BLURAY). You dont have to buy a HDTV to play the Xbox, sure it makes it tons better and more fun, but you dont have to. No you dont have to buy a HDTV to watch your favorite movies in HD but it make the picture that much better if you do. No you do not have to buy a HDTV to watch you favorite tv shows in HD, but they are better in HD.
Paying for online play - I know the Playstation is free to play online so if you want a free service then play that or the wii. But when you pay for something you will get features that you wont get anywhere else. First of all there is two levels on Xbox live first is the Silver - price FREE, now with this you can go to the MarketPlace and Download movies, Arcade games, Game Content, Themes for your dashbord, Game demo's and many more. The only thing you cannot do is play Multiplay. that is where the Gold membership comes in. It is 50 bucks a year (less than $1 a week) and this gives you online play. now i know many of you say this is too much to pay. and if it is go there and play with them, i dont want to play with you noobs anyway. If games cost to much for you then wait a month and buy it used.

"All that for a machine that won't play the hot games this season, like Star Wars Battlefront II and 50 Cent: Bulletproof."

The guy that wrote this obviously had no idea what he was talking about. The 360 looks great on a conventional TV....and 50 cent : Bulletproof? LMAO!
