I had the original for PS2, but never picked up "We Love Katamari." I find this game a lot more challenging than the original, but otherwise, the gameplay is essentially the same, and it retains the very simple, yet highly amusing visuals of the PS2 versions. There are some new variations on rolling to make things interesting. For instance, to make Mercury, you have to roll up "hot" objects to increase your Katamari's temperature to 10,000 degrees. If you roll over "cold" objects, or into the water, the temperature drops. If it gets to 0, you fail.
It can get a little frustrating. Even early in the game, you don't have a lot of extra time to complete your goals, and it can take several tries to achieve success. But all-in-all, it's a lot of fun. Multiplayer is still a bit shallow, unfortunately.
