Ok so my friend connects to xbox live through his laptop, like he justs connects the enternet cable to it and he is in, when i do it it wont connect, plz help.
Your friend is connecting his Xbox 360 to the laptop using a crossover ethernet cable, and then probably using internet connection sharing to let the 360 use the laptop's wifi connection.
When you connect your computer or console into something like a router, switch, or modem, the pins for those devices are different than the computer or console. Trying to plug the 360 to your computer doesn't work because they're both using the same pins and they can't talk to each other.
A crossover cable prevents this from happening by changing the wires at one end of the cable so two computers can talk to each other without a device in the middle.
If you can't get a crossover cable, using a router or hub between the two will work. Then if you go into your control panel, then network connections, select the Local Area Network (where your 360 is connected) and wireless connection, then right click and select bridge connections. That should let you use the laptop as a wireless transmitter for your 360.
