I'm looking to buy a new XBOX game. Here is a little about my gaming tastes -
Doom 3, bought it, finished it, loved it. Will not play again (too repetitive).
GTA - San Andreas, bought it, finished it, love it, and still play it. Minor irks have to do with the terrible AI and some vehicle control issues.
Manhunt - Bought it, hated it.
Rallisport Challenge 2 - Bought it, loved it, still play it on occasion and will def. keep it around.
MGS2 Substance - Bought it, finished it on many difficulties and did many unlocks. I may pick it up again during 07.
Driver 3, Bought it, loved it. Don't play it at all anymore.
Max Payne 2, GTA III, bought them, and enjoyed both.
Burnout 3 : Takedown - Bought it, finished everything. Most likely won't play again.
Based on this information, can anyone recommend some XBOX games that I can buy and enjoy for a long time? As you can see, the games I like are not always high up on the ratings list, and I"m not a fan of splinter cell, and some other games that are very popular.
I do not have XBOX live so this will play into my decision. Any help in choosing a game would be greatly appreciated.
PS The only reason I didn't just look on the Metacritic top 100 xbox games is that I often find I don't end up playing the "best" games more than one time through.
The Suffering and The Suffering: Ties That Bind: These two games are definitely not the greatest of all time but they are quite fun even though the controls are simplistic and the story is crazy. Ninja Gaiden: It's hard as hell but still fun. Deus Ex: Invisible War: You may like it but for some reason I didn't get what all the hype was about. Thief: Deadly Shadow: Ah, You forgot about this game right... Thief is a stealth/action game that was actually surprisingly fun.

The Chronicles Of Riddick is my suggestion. One of the best FPS games on the original X-box in my opinion. The graphics still hold up today and it had a rather innovative control system for close combat. It received rave reviews at the time of release but I don't think it sold that many copies. The movie was pants, but this game was awesome!

I kind of am remembering this game... RPG I think... futurstic... you could kill cats and stuff, and it had ragdoll physics. Anybody know what I'm talking about??
I have basically the same tastes as you, TC. I'm playing Doom 3 right now actually, it's surprisingly good but yes, repeatative!
For the game you're trying to remember, the closest thing would be Deus Ex 2. I have it, it's hard not to recommend when it's only $5. It's an FPS/RPG, futuristic, and has a physics engine. It's long as well, especially with multiple endings, etc. Other games along the lines of what you like, long and without Live, are:
On a side not, I do NOT think Riddick is a good choice, since it's only 10 hours long supposedly.
Yes but it's the best 10 hours of your X-box fps life! Usually I get bored after a couple of hours, but I didn't with this game. Great storyline and even grater fun.

Ok, so I started playing Riddick (although it looks like crap on my HDTV) and yes it's mindblowing. However, the TC said he didn't have Live and gave the impression he wanted a long 1-player adventure. But sure by all means he should get this as long as he finds it cheap.
