I have been looking this game for some time now. I am really thinking about buying this game. What do you think about this game and do you think that I should pick this title up?

Well ByrdBrother, I was thinking of buying this game too, but first I decided to check out the free DEMO, which you should probably do before making any decisions. The demo actually convinced me not to buy the game. Don't get me wrong, this is a very good game. The graphics and details are amazing, and most everything is great. I can't really explain, but I just couldn't get into the game. When I really like a game, I could play it for hours and hours and not realize how much time has gone by. But Doom 3 wasn't like that. I could stop playing without the hunger to come back and play some more. I'm really not sure why. Maybe it's just me. I suggest you check out the demo for yourself.

Personally I'll probably buy this game, I've been waiting for it to come out. I'm not sure why but, I was a huge fan of DOOM II when I was like 10 or something. I played that a lot. By Christmas time I should have 5.1 Dolby Digital and I'll have that all hooked up and by then maybe I'll loose the fear of playing survival horror games in the dark, espcially with 5.1. I heard it wasn't as good as we all hoped, I heard that the AI just kinda charges at you and doesn't stop charging until your dead. Then again, what enemy from the gates of hell will actually sit back and take cover from weak 9.mm rounds-certainly not a tortured soul from the burning depths of hell.

I bought it and regretted it ever since. The hype machine got me really excited, but within about ... four hours of playing it I had absolutely no desire to play anymore. Still I trudged another 7 hours through it only to realise I still had a ****load more generic levels to go before it ended.

You may say "Well, Im not buying it for a deep and meaningful shooter, I want something to scare the pants off me". Think again still, if that is your motive in buying the game. It is not scary. Every corner holds an enemy that jumps out of a hole in the wall behind you. WTF it is doing there is never really explained. This is scary the first time, but a little less the second but by the 700th time it is almost sedative.

Member do have 5.1 dolby digital? I was also wondering if you played the earlier games like Doom 2 and the original. That and I get scared really easily. So you wouldn't recomend Doom to me? How were the weapons and weren't the lighting effects just amazing? I mean I'm the guy who'll stand in one room for about 10 minutes just eyeballing every little detail and really appreciating the lighting and the shadow effects. I think the game comes out in March and so do a truck load of other games like Conker's Bad Fur Day: Live and Reloaded and FIGHT NIGHT: ROUND 2 and I'm crossing my fingers for GTA:SAN ANDREAS(I know it's a long shot but I think an ebgame guy told me that) but what would you get instead?

p.s. Anyone play Conkers Bad fur day on N64? or Fight Night?
