Dead Rising looks pretty good, our store just got it (I work parttime in video retail). I was thinking of renting it to check it out, but I just keep forgetting.

I think Oblivion is the only "must-have" game for the 360 so far....
Most of the other titles....a rental was sufficent enough.
Dead Rising is pretty fun though (even though it can get a little frustrating). I might buy it....but for now the rental will do.

quote: Originally posted by K-Bee: TES Oblivion is obviously a monumental effort. Nothing I've ever played even comes close. I've never been a RPG fan at all but this game just sucks you right in even if you're usually scared off by the endless amount of skill stats and dialogue normally witin the genre. Oblivion has that too, but so much more. This is the losest thing to a believable irtual existance ever. I'll have to recommend Fight Night Round 3 as well. It's probably the best sports title on the console right now and definetely the best boxing game ever released. Dead Rising sure looks great but the tedious save system kinda scares me off. According to many reviews this really spoils the whole game. Is it really that bad? I'd like to get current Dead Rising owners opinion about that before taking the plunge myself.
Yes, the save system is ridiculously bad. I actually have never dealt with a save system this horrible. But it's a great game either way and stays that way even if the save system ruins it.

Slashing zombies and saving people is pretty much the whole game....but there are all kinds of ways to do it, so it makes it a little more fun.
If you have a standard definition TV, you're gonna have trouble reading the text in the retail version too. Apparently, they never tested the game on a standard defintion television, and the complaints started rolling in. I think it detracts a lot from the game as I can't read the text of the phone calls (with obviously important info).
All in all, it's a decent game....but not worth 60 bucks, that's for sure.

Sadly my TV is of the old 4:3 type (or standard definition as you say) - i've onl had it for 2 years so going out getting a HDTV is unlikely for me in the near future - simply don't have th money for it right now. Small, almost unreadable menus is also seen when playing fight night on a standard TV but the're pretty self-explanatory so I didn't think much about it. They really ought to test new releases on old TV's too...we're still quite a few having those.

I think anyone with a 360 just HAS to buy Fight Night. It's amazing.

Elder Scrolls: Oblivion, Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter, and hopefully Gears of War! Those are my picks...

I love the Lost Planet game for a lot of reason. There are a lot of villians to fight and it is challenging trying to move through the tundra-like landscape on the planet of E.D.N. III. It is cool when the vital suits are in use. They have different options to fight opponents.

Call of Duty 2 is great fun, Gears of War is a fun title as well, and get Crackdown (comes out Feb. 20) because I downloaded the demo from the marketplace and it is like GTA on crack. Jumping from rooftop to rooftop, chucking cars like superhero's is a blast, especially with a buddy on co-op.

F.E.A.R. is scary as hell... Rainbow Six: Vegas is a brilliant tactical shoot-em up.
