Agreed. I've never watched "Stacked", although it looks bad on the commercials. I caught "The War at Home" last week and found it to be unwatchable. Who's watching this crap?

The lowest rated shows on FOX include the not-cancelled "Malcolm in the MIddle" and "The Bernie Mac Show." I'm not sure what the logic is behind Fox's retention of certain shows...but I'd guess it has to do with contract commitments to cast members (Bernie Mac, etc) and not with ratings, critical acclaim, etc. But, then again, they kept "That 70's Show" on even after the departures of the two main stars.

Fox is truly a wild card in programming.

Since those three have been around long enough to be syndicated, I'm guessing Fox figures they can make their money back on episodes in syndication, even if nobody's watching them now. Usually the longer something's on the air, the harder it is to cancel, despite how far it may have gone downhill. Case in point: "ER".

Oh, don't get me started on that 70's show. Why can't they just cancel it? They should have ended it a few seasons ago, by now every character has pretty much dated every other character, plus, not only are two of the main characters gone, they replaced eric with this really annoying guy and they changed the opening part. Let it end already!

I agree with you about that 70's show. since the two main characters were gone the set up is quite changed and I don't feel like watching the show anymore. They can be able to replace that with a much better one, I just hope they'll do.

That 70's Show was kind of cool at first. A fresh approach to sitcom.

Then...the plotlines descended into just a bunch of predictable melodrama and they kept using all the same jokes over and over. And it changed from a show *about* the seventies into a show that just happens to take place in the 70s and makes a lot of 70's pop culture references. I stopped watching it like five years ago.

But...well, if they had Eric and Donna marry, then at least it would have been a fitting ending for the show. A fitting cap to the story of our culture's coming of age. Instead, they decided to artificially extend the show and break them up just to keep the show going when they couldn't re-sign Eric.

This has to be the worst season of a formerly respectable show since the Jon Lovitz season of NewsRadio.

The show was never very good. The show would have been better if it never had Eric and Michael. The only good characters are Red and Hyde.

And fifth season Newsradio was good, except for the Johnny Johnson episodes. Lovitz wasn't as good as Hartman, but the show was still better than the vast majority of sitcoms.

That's fine for your opinion, but the show did have a period where it was pretty good, or if not good, funny and entertaining.
I'm definitely glad it's ending though.

Other than losing Hartman, I think the script writing also descended. Sure, you're right, it was much better than most sitcoms, but so is 'Washing machine theatre'.

Also, the balance of intelligence shifted. At the beginning there were five smart characters, and three stupid characters. Then Catherine left, Bill died, and Max joined. So, the smart/stupid ratio was 3:4. And the scriptwriting turned mostly into Joe, Beth, Max, and Matthew being insane and annoying. All the cleverness that came from Dave and Lisa and the character interaction in general just kind of faded off.

It turned into..well, 70's show. People with known idiosyncracies just acting on those idiosyncracies in a new way every week. Funny-by-numbers.

Free Ride-
I haven't seen it (nor do I plan to), but if the stuff on the commercials is the funniest stuff on the show, I have very low expectations for it.

I watched the first two episodes of War at Home.

Some of the humor is kind of funny. But the father is so obnoxious I can't stand him, and the plot is even more family-role-cliche ridden than Malcolm. It's kind of like Malcolm with a weaker cast, weaker writing, and trying too hard to be modern and hip.

I didn't like The War at Home. It sucks, just like most shows. Nothing special. They have these cutaway asides where a family member says or acts out what they're thinking. What a gimmick. I remember they did that on Titus, but I actually liked that show because Stacy Keach was hilarious.

They're switching it with American Dad for the infamous after-Simpsons spot. Hopefully since Family Guy isn't after The War At Home, nobody will sit through it anymore and it will die. Also, I think American Dad is horribly underrated, and deserves as good a spot as possible.

"The War At Home" is the worst show out there, and that's saying a lot. It HAS to be done by now.
