Question:
Select which of the following shows you think will be the first casualty of the Fall 2005 season. (But hurry! One of them is bound to get the ax soon.)

You may also "write in" your pick if it isn't on the list by posting a response.

Choices:
Ghost Whisperer [CBS]
Head Cases [Fox]
Inconceivable [NBC]
Surface [NBC]
The War At Home [Fox]

My vote was for "Surface", if only because of the 4 million per episode price tag. The pilot alone cost over 8 million...

My vote is for the War at Home. They pulled the ol' bait & switch on Thursday night. Instead of showing episode 2 of Reunion after The O.C., they show this sucker. It won't last.

I say Surface goes the way of Wolf Lake.

I think War at Home will survive a little while, because it's the same sort of show as Malcolm in the Middle and all the CBS sitcoms that do so well, ratings-wise.

What about Reunion on Fox? It's so overdramatic, the acting is bad, AND the plot stinks. That gets my vote.

The selection of The Ghost Whisperer for this survey was really pretty far off since it seems that CBS is going to pick this series up for the rest of the year and I agree with their decision.

I am really hoping that "The War at Home" on Fox will be cancelled. Fox tries to be smug by sticking it between the simpsons and family guy, but its got to be one of the stupidest shows ive ever seen

When "Stacked" is getting full-season commitments

and "Arrested Development" is getting cancelled.

TV is in a VERY sad state.

I was hoping Surface or Invasion would be cancelled, but alas I was wrong, and it was my favorite sci-fi series since X-Files to be pushed beyond the Threshold. For the science fiction purists, this was I believe the only hard core, serious series of its like on network television as opposed to the more mild imitators - but the public rules. Hopefully, somehow Fox, WB, or UPN might pick it up. We were on the threshold of something amazingly cool. But of course, this series is just one of many that the networks have just abandoned no matter the quality content.

According to the radio, Fox has cut bait on Arrested Development, Kitchen Confidential, and Reunion (which my wife liked). CBS dumped Threshold.

Brian Grazer (exec prod of Arrested Development) was on CNN the other day and said that they are receiving interest from other networks, renewing hope that AD will be back in some form next year.

I have heard some talk that nbc is interested in cancelling Joey and matching up AD with the office and my name is earl on Thursdays. I would be so happy if that happened. The office and AD are about the only two shows on tv that I make an effort to watch. Anyone know how many more episodes they are going to run of AD? I had heard 4 including the episode from last monday.

Kitchen Confidential was a pretty funny comedy, with a great cast. I'm suprised that didn't do better. Fox has a history of axing good shows though.

I think for the most part, the bad shows have been gotten rid of. There's two more I can think of that should definitely get the ax though, the War at Home and Stacked
