Yeah, there was nothing major last night. But there's gotta be a few of those "breather" episodes in each season.

It's funny...Kiefer's new deal commits him to 3 more seasons (and makes him, from some reports, the highest paid actor on episodic TV!) but in the new Rolling Stone he claims that he hopes the Jack Bauer character is killed off soon because playing him is exhausting. I guess $40 million will take the edge off the exhaustion... Wink

Yeah, last night was more of a set-up episode for characters like Aaron, the VP, 1st Lady, and Defense Sec. to be brought more into the fold. I thought Jack's final line about bringing down the President of the United States was pretty cheesy though!

I liked last night's episode, but maybe that was just because I was eating a particularly good sandwich at the time.

Sutherland probably made that remark to RS to either a) set people on the wrong track thinking Jack will be killed, or b) sound cool and anti-corporate to a left-wing magazine.

Or he was angling for a big pay raise since I assume the interview was done well before the contract was negotiated. Say how tired you are of playing the part: get a big, fat raise!

For my money, Kiefer IS 24. I'm not sure if anyone else could pull off that show. Except Chloe. I could watch 24 hours of her pained facial expressions and listen to her huffy tirades any time!!! Cool

I really must be dull since I enjoyed the last episode because it finally felt that something hopeful was going on (like the good guys were perhaps gaining on the bad guys). The story arch is also more acceptable than when I last saw President Logan, making the storyline more reasonable so that I can get into the series without large question marks.

I'm kind of concerned that nothing more can really happen this season, but there are still seven episodes left. 24 has never taken more than 6 episodes to catch a bad guy when Jack knows where the bad guy is! And after Logan, who else could there possibly be?

I don't think we've seen the last twist. Like I said last week, If evil-POTUS is the big surprise, they sprung it on us awfully early. If that's all there is, I'm gonna be disappointed.

NOW they're just being transparent about what they're referring to. Bringing up America's oil interests like that?

I think when the executive branch talks about how the country is stronger when it's united under a strong government, they're just rationalizing their corruption. America's strength comes from the power the people are supposed to have over the government.

The one single greatest thing about democratic government is that it has an institutionalized system for the people to mount a peaceful coup at will. Erode the executive branch's accountability to the people, erode democracy. I hope Logan burns.

Plot points aside, is anyone else as annoyed as I am about the sudden inclusion of the really loud, really cheesy score? They never used to have score music playing loudly in the background, but the one they've been using is much louder and really awful. That faux surf-spy music sucks, and the melodramatic John Williams sounding crap is worse.

I'm not sold on the faux surf-spy music either.

I haven't watched tonight's yet, but they have been playing surf/rock/electronic/different music all of this year, and they never did before, but it doesn't bother me, but remember I haven't seen what you have.

P.S. I've been biting my tongue for about a month, but when does First Lady Logan do a samurai hit on her husband?

Boo, I missed everything tonight after Chloe stole that guy's key card. I guess I'll have to read Fox's recap.

I'm still confused about the oil interests thing...was oil really what Logan meant when he said "I'm doing this because it's the best thing for the country"?

And btw, I totally saw Sec of Defense back-stabbing Jack coming.

I'm glad the 24 writers answered my question about where Mike Novick's been, but I'm still wondering what the hell happened to Curtis. Has he been at CTU since the explosion at the Gas plant? Did he get fired too? Did he stop for a late night snack? Is he napping? Is he joyriding around L.A. in that helicopter?

If I were Jack, instead of dragging Audrey around with me, I'd call Curtis and open up a can of serious whoopass on Henderson.

Maybe Curtis took a bathroom break.

They've got to do it at some point in the day.

I was so totally ready to watch Jack shoot Audrey when she was between Henderson and himself. Oh well, as usual he caved for his woman. I'm with eric in rejoicing about the fact Mike Novick is back and wondering where the hell Curtis is. I was also wondering where he was, but have they finally killed Aaron? Is that what the abandoned cell phone meant? Too many people smell something fishy for the POTUS to escape this. It looks like next week's is action packed, so I'm excited about that.

It's funny how the cold-blooded Jack Bauer has gotten so soft (choosing Audrey over the tape) while the spineless Pres Logan is now cold blooded: by whatever means necessary! Kill David Palmer, kill Walt Cummings, kill Mrs. Logan. All for the good of the country...

President Logan is the new Jack.

So who is this "Graham" guy that he can ask the president to kill himself, and the president not only agrees but then apologizes to Graham and insists that he will remove any evidence linking Graham's involvement in their little scheme? I hope we actually find out who this guy is besides just being some mysterious evil rich white guy. Also I think it was a great twist having Miles sell out Jack...classic 24.

I knew Miles was going to screw everyone over at some point, I just didn't know he was going to be so blatent about it.
