Agree with this one. While the reviews weren't great, they were still better than deserved. I actually enjoyed the first PotC movie. I thought it was an above average popcorn flick, but this one was the type of hollow "event movie" I'd expect from Disney. The plot was lame. It was just an endless string of ridiculous action scenes and corny one-liners. And to top it off, instead of any kind of resolution, it just ended with a "to be continued...have fun shelling out another $8 for a third crappy movie". It made X-Men 3 look like a masterpiece.

Argh, that pissed me off. They could have so easily just ended it there: Jack Sparrow gets eaten by a kraken and dies, boo hoo, the end. Nope. Whole 'nother movie, whole 'nother several hundred million dollars for the creators.
And here's a part that confused me a little bit. Geoffrey Rush's Barbosa character comes back in the end, saying something like "I think you gents know where my ship is."
Now it's been a while since I saw the first PIRATES, but I think it ended something like this: Jack Sparrow shoots undead Barbosa with his one shot, Barbosa says "ay Jack, ye just wasted yer last shot," then Jack drops the final gold medallion, stained with blood, into the treasure chest. I was under the impression that this action made Barbosa mortal, causing the gunshot to kill him. But defying logic, he appears in the end of PIRATES 2. WTF mate.
EDIT: LITTLE MAN, starring the Wayans brothers. Absolutely dreadful. A chimp could write a better comedy than that.
10. Jesus Camp: It's really boring, even if the topic is interesting. 9. Da Vinci Code: Ron Howard's controversial (wtf?) film is not as bad many critics think but it does end on an odd note. 8. Pirates of the Carribean 2: It's agreed, This sequel is not only a dissapointment but a massacre of all things that were good about the first film. 7. Lady in the Water: The first time I watched this movie I didn't think it was all that bad. A tedious and filtered fairy-tale that is just as bad and corny as people say it is. Do Not Watch It A Second Time! 6. Click: Adam Sandler tries to be an old "dramatic" fart in this half-assed attempt of the Christmas Carol. 5. Mission Impossible 3: MI:3 is just horrible. 4. Nacho Libre: I wasn't expecting anything amazing but at least something worthwhile. 3. X-Men: 3 2. Silent Hill 1. Scary Movie 4 All very bad!!!

Um, that was the "hook", so to speak. I'm sure there will be an explanation as to the ressurection of Barbossa. I doubt they're just going to ignore the fact he was killed.
By the way, I think you blacked out the wrong part. You told the ending to the second movie which is much more recent then the first but, decide to blackout the ending to the first which has been on DVD for years. Doesn't seem right to me.

Thanks for noticing that mistake. I obviously didn't. You're right, should've blacked out the whole thing.

This one was a disappointment for me. I liked that he made an attempt to branch out, I liked SOME of the acting, and an OK story. That's about it. Feel free to disagree, but I'd put The Village ahead of it on the M. Night movie hierarchy.

X-Men 3, The DaVinci Code, Lady in the Water, and Click were all terrible, in my opinion. X-Men 3 just didn't have what the first two had, The DaVinci Code was a terrible book, very poorly written and the movie script wasn't any better (the ending is preposterous), Lady in the Water was just "not there," and as soon as Sandler laid down on the bed in Bed, Bath and Beyond, I knew how it was all going to end. From then on, I lost interest.
Little Man was probably "the worst," though.

I agree that Pirates of the Caribbean II wasn't as good as it could have been, should have been, but I still liked it. Thought it was a fun movie, and am looking forward to the third installment.
I loved Nacho Libre. Sure, it will never win any awards, but I thought it was fun and relaxing. Period pieces and art house films are really my "thing," but sometimes I just like to relax and laugh and not think at all. I felt Nacho Libre let me do that.
Rocky Balboa was my favorite film of the year, though it certainly wasn't the best. I just love the character of Rocky and the first film is almost perfect, at least to me.

Oh, I know what you mean with "Ultraviolet"! My brother-in-law brung this dreck over saying it was "as tight as The Matrix!" He popped this lousy DVD in & made me sit through the most God-awful storyline & acting EVER! Then later, he had the nerve to be upset because I popped in "The Warriors"! How can you not like this 70's cheese-fest?!

"The Warriors" ruled, man! Your brother-in-law's a mook! But yeah, my brother visited, and since we don't see eachother often, we wanted to sit down together and watch a movie. Sadly, that movie was the crap infested disaster known as "Ultraviolet".
"Aliens Gone Wild" may be even worse.

Hey, hey, we're the Monkey_Boys, yr brother-in-law is a serious worry....did he have his taste gene removed at birth, or sumthin'?
Oh, could I feel as I have felt, or be what I have been, Or weep as I could once have wept, o'er many a vanished scene; As springs in deserts found seem sweet, all brackish though they be, So, midst the withered waste of life, those tears would flow to me.

Well, here's a "Worst List of 2006" to end 'em all! 'The 50 Worst Movies of 2006' by Rotten Tomatoes! Nearly every movie that's been mentioned so far has made the list & most of these are extremely awful! Just remember, if you go blind, you can only blame yourself! You've been warned!

Monkey, stay away from RT, already! I saw three of the 50: An American Haunting, The Da Vinci Code, and Firewall. None of 'em were that bad. I also doubt that All the King's Men was the second worst film of the year, but whatever. I've already been attacked for saying that the other films were OK before.
P.S. I'm right. Shitty movies stink much more than those. "Most Disappointing" is totally different from "Worst".

I know, I know . I just LOVE countdowns, is all . I did disagree with a few, but since they had named, pretty much, every movie people had talked about in this particular thread, I figured, "Why not?"

Well, well, well. So, you DO know how it feels to be picked on for liking an unpopular movie or two, huh? I'll bet none of them were as cool as CAVEMEN FLYING HARRIER JETS, though ! How is it possible to NOT like that premise. You have cavemen AND Harrier Jets AND they're fighting giant, dreadlocked aliens, you can't lose!!!!!
