"Rushmore" es mi favorita, pero "Bottle Rocket" es muy bien, tambien. Recuerdan Uds. que yo no hablo espanol. "The Royal Tenenbaums" es buena, mas o menos. Hasta luego, caimanes.

WOW! Impressive. I'm going to have to agree with Mark...I think. Rushmore is actually one of my all time favorites. Love Bottle Rocket as well. Tenenbaums was great but not to the par of his others. I'm excited for Life Aquatic. The early screenings from guys over at AICN sound very cool.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face
I just saw the previews for this movie last night - so funny! I loved Tenenbaums, can't wait to see Bill Murray and Owen Wilson together again. The link above wasn't working for me. If anyone else is interested, you can check previews out at http://lifeaquatic.movies.go.com/splash.html

Did Owen write Life Aquatic? I thought it was written by Anderson and Noah Baumbach, but i'm not sure. I still haven't seen Life Aquatic - can't wait til it is out nationwide THIS WEEKEND!! I have been looking forward to this movie for months. I just read an interview with Bill this morning, you've gotta love Bill! http://www.joblo.com/index.php?id=6120
Anyone else know for sure about the writing credit?

Nono, you are right, it was Noah Baumack and Wes. I wasn't referring to that one necessarily because I haven't seen it...I'm really kind of dissappointed on at the ratings. By the way, I got that info off of rottentomatoes, they are pretty darn reliable...except one time they had Aquatic spelt A-q-u-a-c-t-i-c.. oops huh? Owen Wilson is the screenwriter for Rushmore, which is Wes' biggest movie, excluding The Life Aquatic. He also wrote for the Royal Tenenbaums and Bottle Rocket... I'm curious if Owen not writing has something to do with the Life's ratings. I don't know, haven't seen, can't judge. Everything Wes does is in my collection of favorites...and usually Criterion.
I'm not too sure, but thats an interesting thought. There was a stupid quiz on this website www.bolt.com, and I have no idea why I was there. However, they had this actor vs. this actor (numerous different choices) and one of these was Ben Stiller vs. Owen Wilson. I, of course, think Wilson is wittier funnier, etc. The last question was "who do you think will be remembered better 10 years from now? I was amazed with the results. EVERY SINGLE ANSWER WENT TO STILLER. I mean, even down to which was better The Life Aquatic, or Meet the Fockers. Thus, I came to the conclusion, the website was based for teenagers...either that or I just don't know what I'm talking about .
Seeing Life Aquatic was one of the most satisfying movie experiences I've had in some time. This has to be his best film yet. They just don't make comedies like this any more.
Life Aquatic was great Rushmore was great I didn't see Bottle Rocket The Royal Tenenbaums was... probably not intended to be a comedy as much as the other two. I need to watch it some more. I have it until Monday at noon. Oh, wait. I can keep it another week without being charged! I wonder how long it will take until Blockbuster rescinds this policy.

No, The Royal Tenenbaums is a study of melencholy and sadness. The family is torn apart. If you watch it knowing these people are desperately sad it has some quirk to it. Not in every drama you are able to get out a chuckle at the characters. I don't know, if I were you I'd just buy it. Its something to be viewed more than what you can in a week or two. Completely calculated and kind of like a rare treat, hardly afforded. It truly demands its viewers attentiveness.
I LOOOOOOOVED (!!) "Royal Tenenbaums" but was slightly underwhelmed by "Aquatic". It's still a great film but extremely unfocused for demanding the viewer's attention like it does. It was lacking in the dramatic and comic richness of Anderson's other work. Maybe I cant appreciate it because though you COULD classify me as a "filmiphile" you'd probably be lying. Until I actually saw the movie I had no idea who Bud Cort was nor did I have any idea that the guy playing the guitar from "City of God" was playing Bowie songs. This is a case where age and how "cinematically mature" you are depends on how you will enjoy this film. I went with friends, all of us expecting something along the lines of "Tenenbaums", and none of us walked away from the theatre completely satisfied. Maybe it's because the jokes went just above our heads or maybe Wes Anderson just made a not-so-great-but-still-damn-cool movie. Oh well....
I am sad to say that I left early in The Royal Tenenbaums. It is one of only 3 or so movies when I did so. This may be due to the fact that I was around 8 I believe when I saw it and found it utterly boring. I will have to pick it up at Elephant Pharmacy in the near future.

Eccentric, I'm sure its not that you didn't get all of the jokes, and I think partially why it didn't sit well with people is because -as mentioned before-, Owen Wilson does NOT write the screenplay. Its Baumach and Wes...which is unfortunate because its a lot of Owen's keen eye that makes the movies like Bottle Rocket, Royal, and Rushmore flow so elegantly. Without the pacing and dialogue that he supplied, its just not the same.
I can't believe anyone could possibly find The Royal Tenenbaums boring, let alone say Bottle Rocket is better. The Royal Tenenbaums is his best film (although I have not seen Life Aquatic) without question. You guys have got to be kidding.

I'll start you out, Crash. How about when they see the report Margot's .. life? Or maybe when the family takes its nose dive and (forgot name) lets the bird (Mortikai?) fly away
