Well, he definitely filled a niche market, but I actually only remember seeing three of his films. "Seven Minutes" was on the local ABC Saturday Night 11:30 Movie about 25 years ago, and it seemed really bad, but since it was only "R"-rated, it was obviously cut.
I did see the two EPICS he directed from ROGER EBERT SCRIPTS!!!!! "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls" is hilarious, if taken in a "What's Up, Tiger Lily?" vein, but "Beneath the Valley of the Ultra Vixens" seemed way TOO crass, and without ANY of the wit of "Dolls."
Meyer, we didn't even know you were already dead, but ANY fan of EXTREME film should check out "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls". Just make sure you're crocked first and remember that EBERT wrote the friggin' script!

I have seen a few of his films. I'm amazed that he got to fulfill his visions on screen, and made so many movies. The one that does it for me the most is Mondo Topless. It is just the perfect expression of his obsession, no plot, just breasts in motion. Classic Russ Meyer!
