Hi, my name is Lauren Spencer and I have posted a discussion post before about my media studies critical research, which I got many useful responses from. Smiler

As another part of my research, I had to hand out questionnaires to parents at a primary school, however, all my local primary schools turned me away without even listening to what I was asking from them! And so, I'm having to come here to see if anyone could be so kind as to fill out my questionnaire online and I can print it off?

If I could just have 2 minutes of your time for you to complete my questionnaire, I would be so grateful and it really would help me.

Thank you for reading and for filling out my questionnaire if you choose to do so.

Here it is:

1) How old are your children?
____________________________

2) Vaguely, how old was your child when they started asking you to buy certain things?
____________________________

3) Would you say that your child asks for things because they were seen advertised on television?
____________

4) If yes, why do you think this is? If no, what do you think are the other reasons for this?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

5) How often do you give in to your child’s requests (each month)?
____________________

6) Do you think that this could have an influence over how demanding your child is for new things?
_______________

7) If yes, why do you continue to give them what they want? If no, why do you think this, and do you think that there are any other reasons for this?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

8) Another factor to influence a child’s wants could be that they want to copy their friends. How far do you agree with this?
__________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

9) Has your child ever asked you to buy something after seeing their friend has it?
__________________________

10) Did you end up buying it for them or avoid doing so?
__________________________

11) Do you think that this encourages your child to ask for more things?
_______________

12) Why?
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

13) Has your child asked you for something, but instead of buying them the exact product, did you buy them a similar product of a cheaper brand?
_______________________

14) How many times have you done this? (Roughly)
