Yes, my list is Neo-centric. And no, I don't care.
I always thought Strangers With Candy was the only show more evil than South Park. Wonder Showzen is the only show more evil than Strangers With Candy.
Oh no! God is dead. What are we gonna do? I'm so hungry. What are we gonna do with him? And yet I'm hungry! And yet I don't know what we're gonna do with God's body! (Byoo-wup) This meat is simply divine.

Sorry, a top 10 isn't nearly enough room, so I'll do a top 15.
1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer 2. Angel 3. Veronica Mars 4. Late Night With Conan O'Brien 5. Six Feet Under 6. Alias 7. Wonderfalls 8. Firefly 9. Farscape 10. Arrested Development 11. Queer as Folk (American) 12. Sex and the City 13. Battlestar Galactica (Current Version) 14. Xena: Warrior Princess 15. Dead Like Me
c'mon, people, I know it's hard to narrow it down, but the first post said the rule was to post only 10. If it was for 15, the topic would be called "Top 15 TV Shows of All Time."
That always happens in the music forums, so let's keep it from happening here. (there will be a post like "name 5 random songs," and it will grow from 5 to 10 then maybe to 20)
BTW, big thumbs up on Conan, but I can't say I agree with you on Wonderfalls.

My apologies. I come from the Metacritic music forums, actually, where it is quite common for someone to make a "top 20" thread that will quickly become a "top 50" thread.
When Wonderfalls was on the air (for like a whole four weeks), I was in love with the show and its.... quirkiness. But, mostly, the dialogue reminded me of Buffy and the eccentricity reminded me of Dead Like Me (one of the creators of Wonderfalls created Dead Like Me, actually). I bought the series on DVD the moment it came out, and to my surprise, the level of quality keeps on going up and up until the very end. Fox's second biggest crime next to cancelling Firefly, in my opinion.

I agree about "Wonderfalls" and "Firefly". Both were immediately cast to the timeslots-where-shows-go-to-die, and predictably were unable to pull any decent numbers. They were great, though.

I still love the Peanuts specials. "It's The Great Pumpkin..." was just on last week. I'm not sure you could consider it a show though since it's not really a series.

First off, new television > old. Older series have weaker production values and stories that pandered to the masses. Nowadays, cable shows, such as Dexter and Battlestar Galactica only have to have a couple million viewers to survive the ax. Dramas (and comedies) in the 1960's, for example, would need crazy ratings numbers, hence their ability to be understood by high school dropouts in Arkansas, and why most of them are considered inane by today's standards (and they can make for relatively annoying viewing, especially sitcoms with laugh tracks).......
Also, the following shows would have a shot at making my list, but they're still too young:
Dexter Doctor Who (The 2005 revamp) Office, The (US Version) Torchwood (The wonderful new Doctor Who spinoff)
The Wire is probably the best drama I've ever seen. Unfortunately, I'm only halfway through Season 2 because it's a recent discovery, so I can't put it in my list just yet. Keep that in mind. If there's any show that's MUST SEE, The Wire is it.
1. Arrested Development (Comedic perfection. About as intelligent as comedy will ever be.) 2. The Simpsons (Really played a huge part in changing the PACE of programs.....we now see faster paced shows with bigger laughs) 3. Seinfeld (Dared to tell us a lot about nothing in particular, breaks so many conventional TV rules.) 4. King Of The Hill (Woefully underrated gem. Wonderful character based humor.) 5. The Wonder Years (Greatly altered television comedy ....freedom from the background laughs!) 6. Survivor (Receives far too much slack from millions that never bothered to watch. It's ability to reinvent itself, along with casting the most interesting bunch of individuals you can find in America, makes it the God of Reality. Forever.) 7. The Office UK (The finest sitcom from the world's sharpest people.) 8. Futurama (Matt Groening, the only TV creator to truly strike gold twice.) 9. Star Trek: The Original Series (Despite its age, still more clever, faster moving and bolder than any science fiction series since) 10. The Amazing Race (Sit back, enjoy the ride.)
Star Trek Gunsmoke Law & Order SNL X-Files American Bandstand Hawaii 5-O The Wonder Years Outer Limits The Twilight Zone - I would love to see every episode again.
There are many viewable fictional television series: Twin Peaks MASH The Sopranos Tanner '88 Seinfeld The OC Carnivale The Wire Six Feet Under The Mercer Report & The Colbert Report
2. Six Feet Under 3. The Sopranos 4. Scrubs 5. Band Of Brothers 6. Arrested Development 7. Weeds 8. Da Ali G Show 9. Curb Your Enthusiasm 10. Dawson's Creek
