Ever seen a commercial that you just hated? We all have. Now you've got a place to vent about it.
I've seen a whole lot of bad ones in my life. I can't remember all of 'em at the moment. The ones that really stick are all of the recent body spray commercials. These RGX spray spots really annoy the hell out of me. For some reason this girl's attitude just pisses me off to no end.

I personally hate the new anti marijuana spots. You know, the ones with the 1st grade level cartoons? They're so stupid I actually think the guy who came up with 'em was on acid or 'shrooms .

Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Yeah, those are pretty rough ads. I think they actually might encourage drug use - they're that bad. People would do anything not to be associated with something as lame as that.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the recent trend in prescription commercials, too. Just listening to the potential side effects makes you wonder what the draw to these drugs could be. Really, I think I would rather have the runny nose to the side effects that could include headache, heartburn, stroke, erectile disfunction & nausea that could come with it. It's also pretty disturbing to suddenly hear, "I have genital herpes." GOOD GRAVY!!!! I don't need to hear that!

I know that there are some clever commercials, but most of them seem to come from overseas. I'd just say that almost all U.S. Commercials suck, but this is coming from somebody who rarely watches commercial TV, and when he does, he doesn't pay attention to commercials.

I'll tell you what I HATE. I hate political ads. They destroy what remains of the spirit of politics. I mean, it has just gotten awful. Here's a taste from the most recent VA governor's election about Tim Kaine, who happens to be opposed to the death penalty because he is Roman Catholic.
"Tim Kaine says that he wouldn't execute Hitler. Are those the kind of values YOU want for YOUR governor?".
It ended up actually working to Kaine's favor. Because the ads got to be so nasty, they ended up turning people off to his opponent. As a result, Virginia elected the most liberal governor it's had since I've been following politics.
I think perhaps the worst political ads are the ones that completely distort a person's voting records by focusing on just one part of a bill, when really they were voting against something else tacked onto the bill.

"Here's the deal folks - you do a commercial, you're off the artistic roll call, forever. End of story, OK? You're another corporate fuckin' shill, you're another whore at the capitalist gang-bang, and if you do a commercial there's a price on your head, everything you say is suspect, and every word that comes out of your mouth is now like a turd falling into my drink."
Remember when Bob Dylan appeared in those Victoria's Secret Angels ads a few years ago? That was really weird, but I kind of admired his "I don't care what you think" attitude in doing those. It was like a regular VS commercial and then -- whoa there's Bob Dylan's devil face.
I also disagree that commercials cannot be legitimate art.

Finally, "Old Navy" it appears has fired its old marketing firm. As opposed the upbeat, "mod"ish commercials being broadcast this year, the old, 50s style, stodgy commercials that could only appeal to 50 or 60 year old consumers were the worst and repulsive that I've experience. I literally wanted to stay away from the store because of those commercials. They were such a turn off. I couldn't believe that such a national clothing chain would have paid money for them much less actually allowed them on television.

The General auto insurance commercial. It annoys me to no point what-so-ever. I don't know why, but that's the only commercial that will ever annoy the hell out of me.

I don't think much of the animation either but the psychology of it is pretty brilliant.
Can't stand All State, Alltel and Verizon Wireless commercials. But really most commercials annoy me.

I suppose so. Still... I haven't talked to anybody that saw them and thought, "That soooo makes sense! I'm never smoking pot!" or "Good gravy! My girl would leave me for an alien?! That's awful! I quit!"

I really hate iPod commercials. They blast the music in your face with the female singer/songwriter's voice being the focus on selling a computer. Wait, what???
By the way, I loved those anti-pot ads, they were pretty awesome in a way that they were the only commercials i'd actually appreciate when I'd watch TV and say, "You know, commercials can be powerful, low-budget, and non-consumeris at the same time." Most of the anti-tobacco ads end up being good for some reason

Theres many commercials I hate. I'll name one of them right know. Its the one where a company is changing its name to a mer-man. How stupid!!! Its on 24/7 it NEVER seems to stop!!! Another stupid one is for head-on. Head-on Apply directly to the fore head, head on apply directly to the fore head, Head-on apply directly to the fore head. now the award for the most stupidest commericial goes too ( pretend theres music playing) The free credit report dot com commercial. The stupid song in the commercial HAS GOT TO GO!! Are you annoyed yet? Anyone agree with me on the commercials I have said?
