Really burns me that this got cancelled so quick. I really hated the pilot, but for some reason kept watching the show. It was really unique and the characters ended up being fantastic. HBO really screwed this one up.

Well they pretty much wrapped it up in the last episode, so I'm not totally disappointed they didn't pick it up. Much as I liked it, there were several weak links in the cast. In particular, it was painful to watch Keala Kennelly (Kai) and Emily Rose (Cass) try to act. Greyson Fletcher (Shaun) had the perfect California surfer look, but he too was pretty dreadful in the acting department. Other than that though, I thought everyone else was pretty spectacular. Of course my faves were Rebecca De Mornay (Cissy), Ed O' Neil (Bill) and Matt Winston (Barry).

Ed O'Neil was hilarious week in and week out. I agree that Shaun, Cass, and Kai were played by sub par actors, but at least in Shaun and Kai's case they could really surf. My favorite character was Butchie.
