I saw this sorry excuse for a movie last night and I am pretty pissed. I know that if you play with matches, you get burned (meaning if you go to a movie like AVP, expect some poo), but this was awful. There was absolutely nothing new. The only new thing about this movie was the (awful) cast, and the (awful) set design. The rest of the movie seemed to be pieces of the previous movies. I would like to commend the director for making such a great acheivement though. I have never seen a director absolutely rape two genres at the same time before. Congrats Mr. Anderson, you have set a new standard in bad filmmaking.

The movie was exactly what I was expecting. I wasn't disappointed because I expected it to be trash made for 12yr olds, and it was. To get through this dilemna, knowing that I had to see for myself anyways, I snuck a half a 26er of vodka into the theatre and got hammered! I actually had a decent time and got more than a few good laughs out of it, even though it was honestly some of the worst directing I have ever seen. It had major continuity problems, and Anderson took the easy way out every time he could. Almost every single scene is stolen directly from another movie, whether Alien, Predator or something completely different. Truly this movie is a joke, but at least it made me laugh, or was that the vodka?

Anderson is one of the most annoying directors out there, he always settles for the easy mediocre plotlines, that drown the audience in their predictabilitly. Event Horizon was his best work. If he is going to make something suck, he should stay away from franchises, or any movie that anyone would want to see.
