I haven't heard anything pertaining to another sequel yet. Anyone have any details or info about this? I really liked the second one.

I think it's already in pre-production here in Vancouver but I could be wrong. I have heard that they increased the part for Storm in this one, as Halle Berry was unhappy with her limited screen time in X2.

X-men 3 has been announced and is sceduled for a 2006 release.
x2 had a very open ending leading into the whole /jean Grey/phoenix rising saga. However, they need to do a four hour movie in order to capture the whole thing, since the Phoenix saga is one of the most complex and multi-layered stories ever concieved by Marvel!

A 4 hour X-Men movie???? Cool!

But I don't know how they're going to do the whole Phoenix saga since the director (Bryan Singer) has totally misunderstood the personnalities of every single X Men!
I bet Wolverine's gonna be the hero...again...
And I bet he's still going to be in love with Jean Grey...again....
And I bet Cyclops is going to be sidelined...AGAIN!!!!!

Bryan Singer has dropped off the X3 project and is taking on the next Superman movie (whether it will actually get off the ground or not this time, I don't know)

David Hayter, writer for X1 and X2 has said the character most likely to appear in part 3 is Dr. Hank McCoy AKA The Beast. Others rumored to appear are Warren Worthington III AKA Angel/ArchAngel and Remy LeBeau AKA Gambit. The first two characters are from the original X-Men team.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back.

That would be sick.

Both Gambit and Archangel are one of my favorite mutants (besides the Ninja Turtles). If I had to choose a favorite X-Men, I'd go with Gambit. I mean, card throwing in itself is already awesome. Gambit throws EXPLODING cards! So the coolness of card throwing is multiplied by like a billion.

So I'd say he's pretty damn cool.

Beast on the other hand...so boring. What's his mutant ability? Extra pubes? I know he has brains, but brains aren't nearly as cool as exploding cards (or wings made of razor blades).

Beast sucks. He's like a hairy Donatello without a shell or any martial arts skills.

What a tool.

And who will be portraying these new additions?

I'd always thought Gambit was one of the lamest X-Men, I mean card throwing, seriously?!? I prefer the mutations that seem realistic to at least a minimal extent. Beast, with increased brain power and agility, Angel with wings, these seem imaginable to me. A guy throwing exploding playing cards is nonsense. Gambit was always a lame replacement for Havok anyways, who was a much cooler character, being Cyclops' brother and having almost nuclear blast power that he couldn't control enough not to kill normal humans. That would make for good some drama and destruction onscreen! Gambit on the other hand gives an actor a chance to embarass himself attempting a cajun accent. Uggh! As far as the whole Phoenix situation goes, that will need some extensive rewriting for the big screen, because the whole space shuttle/Shi-ar alien thing is not going to work. For casting ideas I'd love to see Matthew McConaughey as Angel and Henry Rollins as the Beast!

Gambit LAME? Dude, you gotta be kidding. How is increased brain power and agility cooler than card throwing? They seem "more imaginable"? Are you serious? We're talking about people with super powers! The more creative the power, the cooler it is. Extra brains, agility, and hair are far from creative. I'm not saying exploding cards is all that original either, but it IS much cooler. You ever seen a guy throw cards in real life? I've seen a dude throw a playing card into a small slot that was cut out into a box or something from about 50 feet away. It was totally awesome. He could definately kill people with his sick ability.

Would you rather see a guy throw cards with deadly speed and precision or a really smart monkey? Please, there's no contest to which mutant is cooler.

Beast is just an ape who wears glasses.

If I recal correctly, cards were simply Gambit's favorite method of using his actual power, which was simply to make things explode after he touched them.

I reserve the right to be entirely wrong.

I'm gonna have to agree 100% with K-Dog on this one. Gambit is a really cool X-men, probably the coolest. It's not just the card throwing, it's his charm, his long trenchcoat, his red eyes. The good thing about Gambit is that he isn't like, say, Beast, his powers are more low-key and mysterious (Terribly mysterious!, wink-wink, Mystery Men, oh forget it...). Confused

I never liked Beast, not only is he not original but he always gets his ass kicked! Whether it is in the comic books (for example, in Ultimate X-Men, he's dead!) or in the Animated Series! Frowner

And, yes, Compman, you're right. He just likes it coz it's cool I think. Cool

I"m excited, although I am really curious how the Jean Grey/Pheonix metamorphisis is going to turn out, as it appears that you all are. I would personally rather see Archangel more than the docile Beast or retarded Gambit.

I've never even noticed this topic. I am looking forward to the continuation of the series. I really enjoyed the first 2, and they remain probably my favorite Marvel Comic Book Movies.

"Retarded" Gambit? That's very harsh! Gambit is cool! Cool I tell ya! He's a ladykiller, a French ladykiller, a bit like me...nah

I've been looking for a decent forum to discuss this on. Matthew Vaughn has taken the role of Director for X-3 (he produced Lock, Stock and Snatch and Directed Layer Cake). Release is set for 2006 summer probably and there are gonna be 3 new characters to date, Beast (so far from being boring its not funny, hes the most powerful of the mutants strength-wise, the most agile by far and with Hank its more about the man behind the beast than what he can do that looks cool), Gambit (again, are you mad - he is not dull in the slightest, yeah he can throw cards but again, its all about the man behind the powers - he's also meant to be Rogues real love interest - i have no idea what the hell Singer was palying at sticking her and Iceman together, pretty dillusional but maybe X-3 will play differently. I do know that this is meant to be the last in a supposed trology of X -Movies, hence securing Jackman and Stewart as well as the others.), finally Angel, yeah he is in the 3rd movie but theres a hell of a lot of controvesy here, he is going to be a she... I expect this will be changed as this goes against everything substantial in making a comicbook movie, then again look at Daredevil and Elektra, please don't let Fantastic Four go the same way... Oh and K-Dog, sorry to rain on your parade but Angel only had razor sharp wings AFTER he was taken and turned into death by Apocalypse.... Anyway thats the scoop so far on the new movie, should have some more soon I hope... Oh and yeah, they are going to tackle the Phoenix saga, its the main storyline but I really don't know how they plan on doing it as the Hellfire Club hasn't been mentioned once and they seem determined to keep Wolverine in as the main character when the whole Phoenix Saga was revolved around Cyclops and Jean Grey essentially.... Anyway, enough of my ranting for a first post... Sorry to go on.... Cheers for reading tho!

According to E!Online, Kelsey Grammar is going to play The Beast in XM3. Angel and Shadowcat will appear (with LOST's Maggie Grace (Shannon)to play Shadowcat).

At least one baddie is confirmed: Vinnie Jones as Juggernaut.

I had heard that Kelsey Grammer was playing Beast, nothing about Shadowcat though, still just that ArchAngel will be a chick and Gambit is joining, also that a guy who is at the moment unknown called Scott Madej is to play a young Prof X pre wheelchair (for Juggernaut flashback scenes I assume, he is Charles half brother), although I'm not 100% sure this is true as he was also said to be playing Gambit so who knows... Don't know much about what's gonna happen with this movie. Heard Gambit was going to be in it, and heard that he WAS in the first two movies, but his scenes were cut for the theatrical version. Anyways, on the subject of Gambit... I can't believe any hardcore X-man fan would talk badly about him. Even Stan Lee sujested that Gambit had the potential to become the most powerful mutant ever born. He was so powerful that in several alternate realities he had actually destroyed the entire planet. This was without control though, because the Gambit we read keeps a close eye on his powers, making sure to only charge up small things like cards and sticks. >.>...come on guys. Rogue wouldn't fall in love with a wimp!

From what I hear the current director quit so they start shooting in a month and have to find a director by that time. Also their script isn't even complete. Two propsed directors are Brett Ratner (the "Rush Hour" movies) and John Moore ("Behind Enemy Lines" and "Flight of the Phoenix"). Neither sound promising...
