I heard from some people that there is going to be another matrix. Are my sources bad or is there going to really be another one after the trilogy is over? I'm sorry but that would just be really stupid. Anybody know anything?

I haven't heard of anything like that. I don't think so. I have to agree that it would be stupid though and I love the series.

Haven't heard anything either. But I actually think they SHOULD do another Matrix! In order to make people forget the crappiness that is: Revolutions. If they do make another film I think they should take their time this time and write a decent script.

I agree that revolutions sucked but the TRILOGY is over. Possible spoiler? Everyone died. We were saved. Is everyone going to be resurrected or something. Im sorry but that would just make everything worse. If there really is a new matrix and it does turn out gud, I will be surprised after the last two sucked.

i doubt they make a new matrix, it'll be very diffucult to create a story from where neo is. plus the smiths were destroyed in revolutions which made me piss my pants and got me all mad.

90% that they will not make another sequel to the matrix.

While I agree that there probably won't be another Matrix that involves Neo, I disagree that it is over. The Matrix world is too vast for them to just up and quit, its all a waiting process until another idea is thought up that could be included in the story and POOF you have another blockbuster flick... or not, it could be animated like "the Animatrix."

I can’t imagine a sequel, but a prequel might be interesting… though after watching all the Animatrix shorts, all other clever areas to explore may have been covered.

I thought I’d share this somewhat unrelated thing with people though. Before the two sequels were released, many people were theorizing about where the story would lead us. The most interesting idea that I ever came across was one that involved Neo as a program. Later it would be revealed that Neo’s purpose was to gather all the “free people” for a potential Matrix “house cleaning” and that the “real world” might just be another layer to the Matrix for those who rejected the first. However, Neo wouldn’t know that he is a program, which leads to many more interesting instances surrounding how he uncovers the secrets behind his abilities, rather than the much too simplistic “he is gifted far beyond all other human beings”.

All in all, I would have liked to see that alternate idea developed rather than the… “he is the chosen one, he’ll save us no matter what…”, “all you have to do is believe in yourself, Neo…”, and that blasted “causality” crap.

EDIT: Now that I think about it further… wouldn’t it have been creepy, after all was said and done, to find out the “real world” WAS just another layer in the Matrix? You could have the movie end with some schmuck bending a fork in Zion or something and Darth Vader screaming, “Noooooooooooooooooooooo!”, as the camera pans upward revealing the gravity of the situation. Oops, I’m mixing up shitty movies again. Nevermind.

I really hope not. The Wachowski brothers should focus their energy elsewhere since they destroyed the Matrix world for me.

They redeemed theirselves to me with the wonderfully written V for Vendetta, and I hope they can somehow turn Speed Racer into something worth seeing.

What was so crappy about "Matrix: Revolutions"? I got what I was looking for: The war in the heart of Zion & the ULTIMATE battle between Neo & Smith. Why are people so hard to please these days? What did you expect?

I just got done watching the worst one in my opinion and I got the feeling from oracle when she told that little girl that they would see neo again that there would be another where neo returns for some reason.

And as far as a prequal that might be interesting in a non-animated form, I think they lost a lot of fan base with that poor exception of a movie.

Well to answer, Monkey Boy, they expected a good movie. And what they got was a poorly designed, disjointed, anti-climactic shit fest. Does that answer your question? Too bad it didn't have Nicholas Cage in it as Ghost Rider, than it would've been even better than it is already, huh?

Matrix Revolutions was close to unwatchable. It lacked everything that made the original Matrix an interesting science fiction film. I'd put it along side Batman & Robin as an example of a once good movie franchise gone horribly, horribly wrong.

Really, for this kind of Sci-Fi/Action flick, I only went for the ACTION part, & that didn't disappoint. You guys all hold up the first one like it was some fantastic achievement in storytelling. All I liked from the first, was what happened from the lobby shoot-out on. At least the next two had a few more moments to look forward to than just the ONE from the first. If I want a great story, I look in the DRAMA or THRILLER catagory, never Sci-Fi or Action, you'll just be disappointed. Like you are right now.

not that anyone's asking or cares, but I thought all the Matrix films were exceedingly terrible, increasing in levels of rottenness as they turgidly slumped along......

I don't understand why people liked the first movie the best. The fighting in the first movie was the worst of them all. They movements weren't fluid at all, but stiff, especially Trinity. They can't fight for beens even with the help of asains choreographing.

But besides the fighting, the other action parts were good and the story was good. Second and third was a little lower than the first, just sadly because of the great anticipation for the movie and how it could end, which wasn't what everyone expected in the sequels.
