I really really do not like Alien Resurrection. I was reading on wikipedia after reading all your posts and the writer of Alien Resurrection was none other than Joss Whedon, which surprised me because I love him and all his stuff. Until I came across this interview here . He didn't like the movie either. Apparently Jeunet just did it wrong even though he followed the script. I don't know. The movie was a little too eccentric (probably not the most fitting word) for me.

I thought it was hilarious how quite a few people who were onboard with "Alien" from the very beginning, were upset that a fourth was being made! That had to be the most shocking thing about the set, the way they let people be honest about their thoughts about the studio's choices & the original writers. Lotsa unhappy folks were involved with this series! Some got their way, others didn't.

Whedon did get to make "Serenity". I think that counts as something that went his way! Wink

Didn't Joss write the scripts for Buffy the vampire slayer? I had problems with that programme. It was everything bad about 80s horror films, mixed with everything bad about teen movies. Later on, it emcompassed everything bad about soap operas. An irritating and vastly overrated series.

Alien Resurrection is mildly entertaining. I didn't dislike it, but no-one's topped the first film.

Agreed. Joss is his own worst problem, but he fails to see it. That's okay. I think he creates great characters; I just haven't much cared for his situations.

None more Black

I am a Buffy The Vampire Slayer fan. It was one of my favorite television shows. It combined the best of television drama, comedy, and horror to produce great entertainment that should have won some Emmys. There is a college class on this very topic and some very deep philosophical discussions derived from this series.
