The Game of Halo has "swept the nation" as a very popular game that has been developed from a book but there have been plans for a while that they are to produce a movie on the game that may be directed by peter jackson. I was wondering what other peoples' views are on this.

I think video game films in general are a bad idea. The first Final Fantasy film was pretty decent, but most video game films--Doom, Super Mario Bros., Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, Tomb Raider, etc.--are either mediocre or terrible.

There's a second problem with a Halo film...it falls into the genre of the "futuristic sci-fi alien warfare action movie". Again, with a few notable exceptions, almost nothing in that category rises above a certain mediocre, cliched level.

If Peter Jackson directed, at the very least it would be competent and visually inventive and appealing, which most such films aren't. Maybe his version of Halo would be transcendent and wonderful...but in general I think the odds are against it and I'm pretty skeptical.

I don't know Halo from Hell, but Starship Troopers was a pretty decent flick which seems to have encompassed all the above genres. Jackson is supposed to be producing, as of now. Maybe Paul Verhoeven can rejuvenate his career? Is there any sex in Halo?

No there won't be any sexual relationship trend in the movie i wouldn't of thought but watching one person in a suit that weighs tons killing and destroying a large enermy force sounds interesting to me. If they manage to portray the movie so that it appears that masterchief just scrapes through the fights then it may be rather dull and the same if they make it seem as though masterchief is an ultra and can't be touched. Thinking about it Halo may have its doubts but we will have to wait and see.

This movie will probabaly be pretty good or really bad. Seein as this is a movie based on a game it might not go very well.

Well it is very difficult to determine i just hope that it is AMAZING.

When is it actually goin to be released in Australia because i really want to see it.............i have played all the halo games & i am also looking forward to the new halo game

Ok Resident Evil, Mortal Kombat, and Tomb Raider were all great movies.

I'm not a fan of the games, but I reckon I would enjoy it as a movie.
