I want to know the reasons and opinions between the simpsons and family guy,
>Which do you prefer >Which makes you laugh most >Whos your fave characters >What could be improved on both series >Etc Etc Etc You Get It
Personally i think that they are both very good since they are supposed to appeal to different audiences but i would say that Family Guy is the funnier of the two, Whats your views.

I'm not sure it's a really fair comparison. I like both shows, and picking one would be pretty arbitrary. I think the recent seasons of both shows haven't been as good, on the whole, as past seasons. Family Guy has thrown out storylines in favor of jokes, which is fine. The Simpsons runs in spurts...some eps are great, and others are just carbon copies of older plotlines.
I would say that, as far as the most recent seasons go, I got more belly laughs from Family Guy than the Simpsons.

I gotta say Simpsons is better, both overall, and how good the two shows have been recently. A few years ago, I'd say "The Simpsons is classic but lately Family Guy has been funnier." But the Simpsons has really been kicking ass lately.
Favorite Simpsons character: Moe Favorite Family Guy character: Adam West

I prefer the Simpsons, but the episodes from the last 2-3 years are not as good as the family Guy's ones. I think that the Simpsons becomes more like a bad version of family Guy. The Simpsons's producers don't have great new ideas but it's normal. After more than 15 years on the same show, you begin to have less scenarios...
Favorite Simpsons caracters: Mr. Burns, Rod Flanders, Todd Flanders, Krusty Favorite Family Guy Caracters: Stewie and the town's mayor (I don't even know his name...)
Both good shows... The Box Sets are worth the money actually I just got the new Simpsons Season 8 Set. My vote for best character on The Simpsons goes to Homer or Maggie. And my vote for Family Guy goes to the Crazy Monkey that lives in Chris' closet.

>Which do you prefer The Simpsons by an absolute mile, despite the show's widely acknowledged weaknesses during recent years. I do like Family Guy, but consider it a MASSIVELY overrated show and believe older Simpsons episodes were much cleverer and more interesting.
>Which makes you laugh most The Simpsons wins this one again.
>Whos your fave characters From The Simpsons, my favourite characters would be Homer and Bart. Representing Family Guy is Stewie and Peter.
>What could be improved on both series Well.... The Simpsons is having massive problems right now, with the writers seemingly struggling to come up with fresh ideas and the characters suffering from staleness. This isn't really their fault given that the show has been going on for close to 20 years. EDIT: Oh, I guess I should mention that I've only seen a few Simpsons episodes from recent years, so I can't really consider my opinions totally validated.
As for Family Guy, simply put, the show needs improved storylines and the characters need more depth.

Anybody who still talks about the Simpsons like it's season 12 obviously hasn't been watching lately. The past few seasons have been pretty great. There's been some shitty episodes in there, but the show has been remarkably good.

Ok, I admit it! I should have mentioned earlier that I haven't seen that many episodes in recent years. My apologies if I misled anyone. I Edited my previous post appropiately to make up for that mistake.

For as long as the Family Guy has been running, its been funnier than the simpsons. But lets see where Family Guy is in 17 years. It'll be distant memory.
Simpons had about a decade that can rival any show EVER. Its almost insulting to compare the two.
I have unapologetically loved the last few "Simpsons" seasons because people take it for granted that they suck. I would prefer to reverse that situation, plus I have hopes for next year. Maybe they can bring back Albert Brooks.

IMO both shows are now past their prime. Family Guy was amazing for three straight seasons, then there was that huge space of time between its cancellation and its return, and suddenly it wasn't as funny.
The Simpsons, however, lasted SO much longer before it started to decline in quality. I don't know the exact number of seasons, but 10-15 of them were excellent.
Aside from that, I see the Simpsons lasting longer. The huge amount of characters and stories about old characters seem to never end. In the season premiere, they built up a character who had only been mentioned before, Fat Tony's son Micheal. If they can do that, what's stopping them from creating 100 more characters?
