But compared to most "Movie Sequels", maybe right on time. Cool

This movie is going to be beautiful! It may be 2-D but, they're using 3-D CG technology to give it more depth. The coloring is fantastic!

A while back people were upset that it was only going to be PG & others feared they were going to go the 'South Park' route & just use a bunch of toilet humor that they couldn't get away with on television. I know this could never be true. 'South Park' is a show that exists because of "shock value". The only thing they have going for them is the fact that they will do anything to make you laugh. Whether it's making fun of the handicapped to having a talking piece of crap. The characters are in no way beloved by their creators.

The Simpsons' creators care for their characters. There is no way they'll make a movie strictly for toilet humor (not that there won't be any). If you've ever listened to the commentaries on the episodes, you'd know that the writers are upset at the fact that Fox has shortened their running time. This is one of the reasons the shows aren't as great as they used to be. This movie will give them plenty of time to write what they want & how they want it with no restrictions! I'm expecting a great movie that is essentially a very long, beautifully done episode!

Sure, I might offend a few of the blue-noses with my cocky stride and musky odor - oh, I'll never be the darling of the so-called 'City Fathers' who cluck their tongues, stroke their beards, and talk about what's to be done with this Monkey_Boy?!"

Wow that is perhaps the most inaccurate description of a show I have ever seen. Seriously, South Park contains perhaps some of the best satirical humor on TV today. And sure the show relies on the ridiculous And gratuitous. But that only emphasizes the absurdity of the events that are actually happening in the real world that the show is referring to. And there are plenty of just plain hilarious episodes, appropos of nothing. Such as Awesom-O 4000. HILARIOUS! And if you don't know what I'm talking about, go watch it Monkey Boy!
And there is a deep love that the creators have for their characters, I mean except for Cartman, cuz he's so lovably despicable. There's a real camaraderie between them, but, being a satiric show, the amount of "personal" relation we have with the characters is understandably limited. And who cares?! It's smart gross-out comedy! What else do you want?!

I guess, to actually laugh during an episode. I have watched several & it just didn't "do it" for me. Not my kind of humor, I suppose.

Yeah so i just found out that the Springfield in Oregon - the one that is about 15 minutes from my house - is in the running to host the "Simpsons Movie" premiere.

I'm not making this up. 16 Springfields from across the nation were invited to enter this contest and the winner gets to host the premiere of the movie. Each city is supposed to send in a video highlighting the qualities of their city and the connection it has to the Simpson's Springfield.

It's still very early, but my city's neighbor to the east is one of the favorites to win. Matt Groening grew up in Portland and I think he said he based a lot of the Simpsons' hometown on our Springfield.

So, Lloyd, ya think your the biggest Simpsons fan ever, huh? I don't know about that. I've personally taped every episode that has aired, & then lovingly went back & removed the commercials, I've bought every DVD set they've released as it comes out, I have every item (toys & obscure merchandise) they've created from the show, I own the autograghs of the voice actors & from Ol' Matt, himself, I know every trivial, little, needless fact about the show, & I use their lines in my everyday speech. I'm a hard man to beat when it comes to the ULTIMATE SIMPSONS FAN. EVER. Wink

Hell, monkeyboy, I stopped at having every episode and every book, using quotes in daily life and adopting character accents.....

I never went so far as buying every item; and I sure as hell never got any autographs, so, yeah, you may just win.. Wink

I've seen every episode, too, and have all the DVDs, but your memory is WAY better than mine. My vote goes to you as the ultimate fan.

I was encouraged by Matt Groening's comment that alot of the original writers are helping with the script, but the trailers I've seen so far look a bit ordinary. I hope I doesn't rely too much on stupid physical comedy and that the plot isn't too gimmicky. Still, I'm a ridiculously huge fan and will see it regardless.

It could be very good or very bad. Matt Groening and all must know that the last few series were way off. If this movie bombs wave bye bye to the series in the near futire.

P.S. I appreciate that it wont bomb cos every fan is going to see it regardless. But I could still suck and get shite reviews. If this is the case, then the series WILL draw to a close.
