For me it would be Geoffroy Rush and Clive Owen. I have to admit Rush is far better an actor than Owen. I just love Owen's rugged good looks. And I have yet seen him and the rest in Closer.

And in reference to Kristen Dunst, I liked her in Virgin Suicides as well as in Wimbledon. If given a good script, many of the so-called "overrated" actresses are able to shock critics and demonstrate that are capable of so much more than what the typical Hollywood script demands.

I really like Don Cheadle. I like it that he's kind of low profile, but I wish he would get more lead parts. He is a great actor.

Did you see Don Cheadle in "Devil in a Blue Dress"? That's gotta be one of the best AND funniest performances since Chief Dan George graced our world!

I've found it interesting that the majority of SNL actors find either fame or complete loss after they leave. Its a make or break thing. I think that Dana Carvey has the ability to play some good roles if given a shot, but since the "Master of Disguise" well...hes not really around. I guess it was his own fault but thats probably the only acting offer hes had in years. He has such a good funny lingering about him.

I think Richard Dreyfuss is very under appreciated, I love this guy! He can be so funny! And when on top form he kills me.

Definitely Philip Seymour Hoffman, but also Parker Posey, Christina Ricci, Steve Zahn, Tobey Maguire, Toni Colette, Ron Livingston, Owen Wilson and so many more that I can't think of right now.

And they are all really good actors too. And you just don't see enough of them.

Desmond Harrington. A lot of people don't know who he is, and that is a shame. He is the greatest actor in the world, and my role-model. If you want to know more, please visit my website: http://www.desitarium.tripod.com

My vote goes to Vin Diesel. I hear alot of negative talk about him, but the guy truly is a good actor, it is the movies that he has starred in that really put a bad image on him. Nobody shows much respect for this guy. One of my favorite actors, and completely under-appreciated.

Vin Diesel was pretty good in the movie "Boiler Room", which was a pretty underrated gem of a movie all around. It also features a great scene with Ben Affleck, another underrated actor.

I also heard this movie is really good, I just rented it today. I still haven't watched it though. I think Vin Diesel was always good, I mean he was excellent in Fast and Furious, and I cannot see any other actor playing his role in Pitch Black and Chronnicles of Riddick.

Anyway, can't wait to watch Boiler Room tomorrow.

There are many unsung actors and actresses who constantly take second stage to the main credit headliners in every movie. Two that come to mind and there are many others are:

Roddy McDowell who died in 1998. He performed in over 150 film and television roles beginning in the 1930s. His most famous role coming in The Planet of the Apes (1971) as Cornelius and Fright Night (1985). His performances were always important if not the main one and without his presence a movie would lose a strong supporting cast member.

Joan Cusack has a similar role as a female in all her movies where her presence can make or break anybody who actual stars opposite her. Her ability to play off another good actor/actress makes her another important, but often overlooked actress. Some of her more memorable performances came in Working Girl (1988), My Blue Heaven (1990), High Fidelity (2000), The School of Rock (2003), Raising Helen (2004), and The Ice Princess (2005).

Vin Deisel is a decent pick. He really was good in the Riddick movies. Even though he might have sucked in xXx, but who didn't, he shouldn't be penalyzed for taking a bad movie. Fast and the furious was really a moot point to me, but he was great as riddick, in boiler room, and SPR.

One other under-appreciated actress is Teri Garr. Listed in 63 television appearances in some of the most popular television series since 1964 and appearances in 94 films for both the big screen and television, she has always been a strong character actress especially since her role in Young Frankenstein (1974) and Close Encounters of the Third Kind (1977) and Tootsie (1982).

An actor whom I think is too underappreciated is Chris Farley. I mean, the man's a genius and left behind him some of the funniest little comedies of the nineties, including Tommy Boy, Beverly Hills Ninja, Almost Heroes and Black Sheep. I understand that his style o comedy doesn't appeal to everyone, but for me, he was just plain hilarious in every film he was in and deserves more recognition. He was the Oliver Hardy of the 90s and died way too soon. RIP

Emily Watson.

I haven’t seen more than a handful of her movies, but she has a certain air about her. I really liked her in Punch-Drunk Love and Equilibrium. She has a sophisticated beauty and the ability, as an actress, to come off as genuine. A rarity in today’s Hollywood scene.
