May MacAvoy was in "The Wings of Eagles" with John Wayne. Wayne was in "Donovan's Reef" with Jack Warden. Warden was in "Edge of the City" (B+, my ass) with Ruby Dee. Unfortunately, Ruby Dee was in "Baby Geniuses" with somebody called Leo Fitzgerald.
I'm starting to get burnt out. What about W.C. Fields and Mary-Kate Olsen?

(And believe it or not, that is six degrees) Try this one on for size...

Mary Pickford was in "Sparrows" with Roy Stewart who was in "Mystery Ranch" with George O'Brien who was in "Fort Apache" with Henry Fonda who was in "The Longest Day" with Sean Connery who was in "Thunderheart" (1996) with Jason Isaacs who was in "Peter Pan" with Rachel Hurd-Wood! Lionel Barrymore was in "Ah, Wilderness!" with Mickey Rooney. Rooney was in "A Midsummer Night's Dream" with Billy Barty. Barty was in "Masters of the Universe" with Dolph Lundgren.
Boy George and Rin Tin Tin (even IMDB says he's an actor)
EDIT- How long it takes doesn't matter, but it shouldn't take more than five.

The original game is "six degrees of kevin bacon" so I guess I was following those "rules" and actually surprising myself that I was doing it in so few moves. And thanks for the "Dragonheart" correction. Ok...I couldn't believe it...
Boy George was in "The Wolves of Kromer" with Rita Davies who was in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail" with John Cleese who was in "Time Bandits" with Sean Connery who was in (guess where this is going)"The Longest Day" with Henry Fonda who was in "The Grapes of Wrath" with Walter Miller who was in "The Lone Defender" with our boy, RIN TIN TIN!!! I thought it would take more than seven.
Wesley Snipes and Henry Walthall
Like you said before Mark, I think it is actually more fun if you take a bunch of detours on your "journey".
p.s. I'm out for the weekend. I'll catch you guys bright and early on Tuesday! Have a great Holiday!

Cab was in "The Blues Brothers" with John Candy who was in "JFK" with Kevin Bacon (sweet!) who was in "Diner" with Daniel Stern who was in "City Slickers" with Jack Palance who was in "Contempt" (1963) with Fritz Lang, playing himself oddly enough.
George Barnes and Britney Spears I will be impressed if you can do it in six moves or less.
p.s. How was the weekend?

Oh, ye of little faith. George Barnes was in "Ain't He Grand?" with Thomas Carrigan, who was in "Airmail" with Ralph Bellamy, who was in "Trading Places" with Dan Aykroyd, who was in "Crossroads" with Britney Spears.
The weekend was calm and lazy personally. I stirred up some trouble around the forums, mostly off-topic. How about you?
Jacques Tati and Mieko Harada (Piece of cake.)

Ok...here's the route I took... Jaques Tati was in "Mon Oncle" with Jean-Pierre Zola who was in "The Train" with Burt Lancaster who was in "Field of Dreams" with Ray Liotta who was in "Goodfellas" with Bobby DeNiro who was in "Mean Streets" with Scorsese (who also directed of course) who was in "Akira Kurosawa's Dreams" with Mieko Harada.
How about... Rossy de Palma and Rüdiger Vogler
Good weekend. Got some sun, did a little jet-skiing. Can't complain!

Wow, I was wondering if I made the forums crash earlier. I went to post my answer to this about 200 minutes ago, and after a big waste of time, no forums. I DIDN'T DO IT!
This is what I did: Rossy de Palma was in "Talk of Angels" with Frances McDormand, who was in "Short Cuts" with Jack Lemmon [who was in "Glengarry, Glen Ross"---NO! NOT THIS TIME!!!!], who was REALLY in "The Great Race" with Peter Falk, who was in "Faraway, So Close!" with Rudiger Vogler.
Lars Hanson (the silent one) and Jean Wallace (hubba hubba)

This was confusing at first because I use www.allmovie.com because I like the interface a lot better than imdb, but they have the dead Hanson's filmography mixed up with the living Hanson's. After I figured that out, it was relatively simple...
Lars Hanson was in "The Scarlet Letter" (1926) with our old friend Henry Walthall who was in "Judge Priest" with Francis Ford (not Coppola) who was in, that's right, "Fort Apache" with, you guessed it, Henry Fonda, who was in "Jigsaw" with our lady, Jean Wallace.
Chick Ortega and Jeff Speakman (The Perfect Weapon rules!)

Chick Ortega was in "Until the End of the World" with William Hurt, who was in "Broadcast News" with Jack Nicholson, who was in "Chinatown" with James Hong, who was in "The Perfect Weapon" with Jeff Speakman.
I promise to open the game up with more well-known names, but first I have to offer these: Michele Valley and Vic Savage (Yes, I know, it's not fair.)

Ok, an easier route I took was... Michelle Valley was in "Pretty Smart" with Patricia Arquette who was in "True Romance" with Dennis Hopper who was in "Speed" with Sandra Bullock who was in "Two Weeks Notice" with William Thourlby who was in "The Creeping Terror" with Vic Savage. BUT....
I like this route better...
Michelle Valley was in "Pretty Smart" with Patricia Arquette who was in "Bringing Out The Dead" with Ving Rhames who was in "Con Air" with Steve Buscemi who was in "28 Days" with Sandy Bottoms, I mean Bullock, who was in "2 Weeks Notice" with William Thourlby who was in "The Creeping Terror" with Vic Savage.
I LOVE Ving Rhames and Steve Buscemi so I had to do that route too.
Forget the easy ones Mark. It's the obscure actors that are more fun to try to find a way out of! So, with that in mind, let's try...
Dorothy Neumann and Paolo Lanza

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face
Dorothy Neumann was in "Gigi" (1958) with Corinne Marchand, who was in "Lola" (1961) with Anouk Aimee, who was in "8 1/2" with Sandra Milo, who was in "Woman is a Wonderful Thing" with Tinto Brass, who was in "All Women Do It" with Paolo Lanza.
Hey, Jackie, if you want to do this one, go ahead, but could you put up a pair of more-known actors. I think we're freezing some people out who might want to play. I'm going on a hopefully-short moratorium.
Mackenzie Phillips and Rudolph Valentino

Ok...someone help us out with this one...
Ron Howard and Matt Damon
