Definitly french Sophie Marceau and Isabelle Adjani...and in United States Sharon Stone is the hottest! And I don't get the Angelina Jolie thing either !
Catherine Zeta is #1 classic beauty, charm, style. I don't see the Jolie thing either. I used to not be very impressed with nicole kidman either. Lately she has been looking very hot. Surprised no one has mentioned Charlize Theron or Gweneth Paltrow. I have always had a thing for Elizabeth Shue don't know why.
I personally find Jennifer Tilly incredibly sexy, not only is she hot but she has that raw sexy voice. In Bound she is simply the hottest lesbian ever! hehe
1. Catherine Zeta-Jones: Classic beauty. She is like a throwback to the old-school lovelies like Liz Taylor, Jane Russell, Marilyn Monroe, Grace Kelly, etc. Actresses don't look classic anymore...just hot. If they ever make a Wonder Woman movie she should be it. She was great in Chicago, Traffic, High Fidelity, and of recently, my favorite performance of her's...The Terminal. 2. Monica Bellucci: forget the Matrix sequels...check out Brotherhood of the Wolf and Malena. She is excellent in Malena, a great movie about the German occupied Italy during WWII.
3. Naomi Watts: Mulholland Drive...need I say more? And she is a great actress, 21 Grams, The Ring remake, I Love Huckabees, etc.
4. Halle Berry: I've liked her since Boomerang. She just kept getting better and better...as an actress and in beauty. Yeah there is Monster's Ball but the fanboy in me loves her in the X-Men tights. I a sucker for superhero chicks. Although I did not like Catwoman.
5. Izabella Scorupco: I thought she was great in Golden Eye but after I saw her in Maxim...jeez. She has done a series of below average films recently...Vertical Limit, Reign of Fire (which I kind of enjoyed but her role was small), and the Exorcist prequel.

A different take - hottest characters...... 1. Amelie - just a wonderful smile. 2. Rosmarie Cross - Rushmore. Boy did she have me in a fix for a year or so.......took me back to childhood crushes, and then when she talked dirty to poor old Max, well, if only my teachers had done that to me.

Of course I can't agree with any of the previous choices, and I'm not saying this one is hotter, but one to add for me is Kate Winslet. She gets me every time.

Kirsten Dunst - Spiderman II Samantha Morton - In America Scarlet Johansen - Lost in Translation Catalina Sandino Moreno - Maria Full of Grace Blanchard Ryan - Open Water Cameron Diaz - There's Something About Mary Olivia Williams - Rushmore
I got couple more to add to the list. After reading what others have said, I think I'll vote for Scarlet Johansen, she's pretty.......pretty. And since I just saw the movie GILDA, I'm going to have to say Rita Hayworth. Man, I didn't even know they made women like that back in the old days. Her hair, and her eyes, she's a total fox.
I have a whole list, but I'll just mention some. These are my favorites from the ones mentioned: Natalie Portman, Katie Holmes, Jennifer Connelly, Salma Hayek, Alyssa Milano, Eliza Dushku, Scarlett Johansson, Keira Knightley. Also: Amber Tamblyn, Lake Bell, Zooey Deschanel, Kaley Cuoco, Claire Danes, Marisa Tomei, Kristen Bell...
If we're including soap actresses, add Sharon Case.
After seeing Charlize Theron in North Country (2005), I'd like to end 2005 on a more somber note, thinking that this topic is pretty much a male thing, that not that young females don't gush over young male hunks. Yet, the more I've thought about it, the whole idea of "hot" actresses make me realize that our idealized fantasies is what makes the subject matter and the serious nature of North Country so powerful and important a movie. Yes Charlize Theron can be attractive as she sometimes is in this movie, even more so in Aeon Flux (2005). Yet so many of these actresses can also look pretty terrible (comparatively speaking according to our super-model ideal) and so can many other women we see everyday and take for granted can also become our model ideals if the women cared to look or we'd care to look. Wishing a carefully crafted, Middle Path Buddhist new year to you too.

Oh yes, everyone has their good and bad days. Good point. And woman you see on the street can look just as good or better than celebrities. But I'll always have my celeb crushes. Even at 29.
