I believe Johnny Depp is a great actor. He plays so many off-beat roles and is in so many different, unique movies. I would like to know what other people think of him.

I agree. His roles are so diverse and I believe that he is a superb actor. I like to see what he is doing next, like: Finding Neverland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Pirates of the Caribbean 2.

I think Johnny Depp is amazing! I think, lately, that he has lost his knack for picking scripts. "Secret Window was terribly mediocre, and as fun as "Pirates of the Carribean" was, it's pretty light fare compared to, say, "Edward Scissorhands" or "Ed Wood".
Nothing can compare to Twenty One Jump Street! Put your guns down folks, I'm only kidding. I think that his work with Tim Burton is superb and I am really looking forward to seeing if he can outdo the Fantastic Gene Wilder in the Willy Wonka remake.

One night on T.V. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was on Bravo, Ed Wood was on USA, and Edward Scissorhands was on TBS, Johnny Depp can do any role any time and pull it off.

ok, so Secret Window wasn't one of his best. But, think about it..if someone else played Depp's part, the movie would have been 10x's worse! I think he did a pretty good job..again, it wasn't his best...

I love Johnny Depp and think he's one of the better working actors out there today and a lot of his stuff like "Ed Wood" for instance, I haven't even seen yet. Anyways ranking what I have seen.
1. "Edward Scissorhands" 2. "Donnie Brasco" 3. "What's Eating Gilbert Grape" 4. "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" 5. "From Hell" 6. "The Ninth Gate" 7. "Sleepy Hollow" 8. "Chocolat" 9. "Pirates of the Caribbean"
that's all I've seen of his stuff. Well I also saw that "Nick of Time" thing on TV, but it was pretty awful.
Other than "Secret Window" and "Sleepy Hollow" I liked most of his movies. I can't believe that nobody has mentioned "Blow" that was a great movie. And since most people are making list I will as well. I don't really have a favorite so this is in no particular order.
"Edward Scissorhands" "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" "Pirates of the Carribean" "Blow" "Ed Wood"

I would have to switch that around and say Pirates of the Caribbean (POC)first and then Edward Scissorhands... He just looks really really good in POC.

well, sure...of course..the acting is important too..i thought he did a great job..and i was really impressed with the graphics, special effects, and imaging (in POC)... But, still..it took me so many yrs to realize that he was Edward Scissorhands...I just can't get over it...great movie!
What about his other movie, Once Upon a Time in Mexico...anyone like that one? I thought it was good, but not my favorite!

I didn't like Once Upon a Time... But I thought Blow was incredible - he did such a good job in that movie. I also loved Chocolat, I thought it was a good role for him. Seems like he always plays the outcasts - pirate in POC, gypsy in Chocolat...

Yep, I saw Finding Neverland and it was very good and often magical. You should definitely go and see it. I even got Johnny's autograph at the F.Neverland premiere.
