Of course, how could I forget the greatest villain of them all:
Kevin Spacey as Kaiser Soze in "The Usual Suspects."

IMO Hannibal Lector is the greatest screen villain of all time. I bought "Hannibal" and "Red Dragon" just so I could watch Anthony Hopkins dig deeper into the roots of the character.

and hey what about Scarface? Tony was one mean mutha****er.

Hannibal is definitely one crazy muthaf***a, he's probably my favorite. Also, the girl from the Ring was pretty scary. and don't get me started on ghost ship, probably the most wasted hour and a half of my life, and i dont mean wasted like high.

It is hard to find a more frightening villain than "Patrick Bateman" of American Psycho. What makes him so scary is that I know people almost as nutty as he is! I mean, this guy will slice you open with an axe if your business card is better than his!

Boy, you got to carry that weight a long time!

Malcolm McDowell playing Alex in A Clockwork Orange.

And as far as the Alien series goes, I found the lone alien in Alien and Alien3 scarier than the queen alien.

O.K., I'll give you Jason, seeing how he was getting revenge on camp counselors who let him drown & killed his mother but, Freddy tortured (maybe molested) & murdered children! Yes, he was killed by their parents but, what parent would stand idly by when the murderer of their kids gets away with it? I don't really see him as misunderstood.

As for my favorite villains:
Azazel from "Fallen"

Job from "The Lawnmower Man"

The Collector from "Demon Knight"

The Mako Sharks from "Deep Blue Sea"

The Twins from "Kiss of the Dragon"

Sho Nuff from "The Last Dragon"

Captain Barbossa from "Pirates of the Caribbean"

Nearly Everyone in "The Way of the Gun"

Bullseye from "Daredevil"

The Yellow Bastard & Kevin from "Sin City"

Hickey from "Last Man Standing"

Mr. Joshua from "Lethal Weapon"

Wah Sing Ku from "Lethal Weapon 4"

Oren Ishii, Vernita Green, Budd, Elle Driver, & Bill from "Kill Bill"

Lt. Coffey from "The Abyss"

Nomak from "Blade 2"

Yulaw from "The One"

The Predator from "Predator"

The Cave-Dwellers from "The Descent"

I had noticed alot of people mentioned the Alien Queen but, noone mentioned the Predator? Come on!

Aside from all those I put on Page 1, I have to add the Colonel in Pan's Labyrinth. They don't come much-more villainous than him.

come on guys!
Darth Vader

and
The Terminator (at least in T1)
the Aliens from the Alien series

and john malkovich has done numerous villain roles, he is very good at them. It's easy to play the good guy, much harder to play the bad guy.

Hannibal Lector gets my vote as the greatest villain. It's hard to believe this is the same actor who played the very understated lead in The Remains of the Day. Both were excellent.

BIll the butcher (gangs of new york)
Frank Costello (the departed)
