For all the Bill Murray fans out there!! I just wanted to know what your favorite Bill Murray movies are. They don't have to be the "top 5" exactly, just your favorites in order if you want.

I'm not averse to taking this in a entirely different direction. Maybe these don't SEEM like Bill Murray movies, except the first, but here goes.

Ghostbusters
Ed Wood
Mad Dog and Glory
Wild Things
Tootsie

For me.. there's an obvious first one: 'What about Bob?' That's got to be one of the funniest movies of all time. anyways... here's mine

1. What about bob?
2. Caddyshack
3. Rushmore
4. Lost in translation
5. Ghostbusters

The funny thing is.. that the first three of those movies are actually prolly some of my favorites and the best movies of their category. But maybe that's just me....

By the way... if you haven't seen the new Wes Anderson movie trailer (and you liked Rushmore, Bottle Rocket, etc.) then go search for it on Yahoo Movies. It looks great: (The Life Aquatic)

1/ Lost in Translation (a ring a ding ding)
2/ Groundhog Day
3/ Caddyshack
4/ Ghostbusters
5/ Scrooged

He was also great in Edwood and Charlie's Angels (even though the film sucked big time!!!)

I just saw What about Bob? for the first time and I thought it was really good, Bill was great but Richard Dreyfuss was hilarious.

Can anyone tell me what was the name of that Bill Murray film in which he's on an Elephant!

Although Kingpin didnt have him in a staring role he still killed. But caddyshack would prolly be his best work today.

I think his best work was in Rushmore, which is probably the best film he has been in. He was incredible. Murray and Wes Anderson seem to work so well together. I can't wait to see him back in the spotlight - after a small part in Tenenbaums - in The Life Aquatic.

He seems to be doing quite a bit of quality work lately. After Lost in Translation and Coffee and Cigarettes came out, Murray has the Anderson picture and, from what I've heard, will also have a larger role in an upcoming Jarmusch project.

2.Groundhog Day

And I have to mention Kingpin with the qualifier that while the movie wasn't really what I'd call "good," Murray's performance was spectacular.

Groundhog Day, Scooged, What about Bob...all great films...

I can't believe no one has mentioned "Man who Knew too Little" If you love Murray, how can you not love that film...it's hilarious.

i know! I saw it yesterday and laughed my ass off! Bill is excellent, especially in the dancing scene at the end. It's a sort of Pink Panther-style comedy that's really funny.

Hmmm, judging from your top 5's I need to see What about Bob and (ulp!why haven't I already?) Groundhog Day.

1. Ed Wood
2. Where the Buffalo Roam
3. Ghostbusters
4. Caddyshack
5. Scrooged

I'll probably hear back about choosing Where the Buffalo Roam, and for many people he pales as Hunter S. Thompson compared to Johnny Depp in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, but I thought this movie was great, and it showed Bill as never before. Why isn't this even a cult classic?
