I've never been able to stand actor Lloyd Nolan. More of an avuncular personality than an actor, I saw him again in PEYTON PLACE the other night where he plays a too-good-to-be-true doctor in small town Maine. He doesn't have any back story and gives his standard schtick. I think the reason I don't like him is that when I was a kid I remember the TV show "Julia" that starred Diahan Carroll. It was kind of a big deal because it was the first network tv show that featured a black character in the lead. Carroll was a nurse who worked in a doctor's office. The doctor was played by Nolan. I just remember even as a did that the show was awful treacly and for whatever reason I've had a bug up my ass regarding Nolan ever since.
For me the winning prize for worst actor EVER is Leonardo DeCRAPrio. I've never seen him in a movie I liked & am very wary of ANY project he is a part of. Like right now he's in "Blood Diamond" & even though it looks to be a very interesting story & has actors I respect, I just WON'T see it because of him. Second place goes to Pauly Shore. I just can't stand people who aren't funny but, just continue with the crap jokes anyway. Oh, & rappers, singers, & wrestlers always spoil a movie for me. Most of the time they can't act their way out of a paper bag, yet, because they're famous, they're given starring roles in quite a few pictures. The Rock, Master P, & Snoop Dogg top this list as the worst crossover performers ever!
As far as women go, I actually have trouble naming any because I don't really make it a point to watch "Chick Flicks". When I go to the movies, it's about the action & there aren't alot of women who have big enough parts in them for me to remember they were in it.

Oh, yeah. I almost forgot Eugene Levy. He USED to be one of my favorites, but, lately, he's been slipping. It's like he fired his agent. What is with him & the "American Pie" sequels? Not even Jason Biggs will touch this crap & yet Levy continues to be in each & every one. He was great in the first & then it was just all downhill from there.

Not to mention The Man with Samuel L. Jackson and Dumb and Dumberer (not a typo, that's what it's really called)
He needs less of that crap and more of either mainstream stuff like American Pie 1-3 or low-profile roles like in Best in Show.

Cate Blanchett is a terribly self-conscious actor. That alone makes her poor. But she deserves special recognition for having convinced the world at large that she actually can act without being conscious of her screen persona every moment

Whoa! Robert DeNiro in Raging Bull, Marlon Brando in Streetcar Named Desire, On the Waterfront (I own the DVDs, I'm not THAT old), or in The Godfather, Johnny Depp in Edward Scissorhands, Jack Nicholson in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.... Of course you don't have to, but I'd love to hear why you think these actors are obviously bad.

Sometimes I'm a bit "slow" and need a nudge. Thanks for providing it. And I've got my mind on April 2nd, the opening day of MLB. Joy, joy, joy. If it isn't books, baseball or trivia, someone could probably fire a gun in one of my ears and the bullet would come out the other. There MUST be an upside to that, but so far, I haven't found it.

More Arnie quotes! Maybe I should start a new thread...
Haha yeah, he is hilarious without even trying. Another line I love, and I believe it is from the first Terminator is when he says: "I need your clothes"
