Considered the best actress ever. I, truthfully, havent seen her in that many roles but I in what I have seen her in, I thought she was great, as the Manchurian candidate (new), to Adaptation. What do other people think about her?

She's fantastic! She picks so many diverse roles and always exceeds my expectations. She can nail any genre - even dark comedy! You just have to watch her in Death Becomes Her to see what I mean.

She truly shines and deserves all the praise she gets.

Meryl Streeps versatility is amazing.

But I still go back to where it began for her best performance.

Her turn in "Deer hunter" has to be one of the best debuts in cinematic history.

Check her out in The French Liuetenant's Woman. That's when I fell in love with her.

If not the greatest screen actress ever, she certainly is the greatest actress of her generation and has had a long career. Most actresses disappear when the big 40 hits.

There was actually a buzz about her before she even made a movie when she was studying at the Yale Drama School. She was good in relatively small roles early on, such as in the aforementioned DEER HUNTER. She either won or was at least nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for that performance. She was also good in MANHATTAN, playing Woody's ex, and KRAMER VS. KRAMER.

A few of my favorites include A CRY IN THE DARK, set in Australia, about a woman whose baby is dragged out of a tent by a dingo (aka wild dog. She was also good in SOPHIE'S CHOICE.

I've missed most of Meryl's movies, probably because at the time of many of her earlier movies, I wasn't really into the subject matter that she apparently acted in. Except forThe Bridges of Madison County (1995), she hasn't registered for me, most likely out of ignorance. I did truly enjoy her though in the 1995 film. However, in one of her recent portrayals in The Manchurian Candidate (2004) didn't seem to me to be one of her best roles.

I love Meryl Streep. She has that classy flair in all roles she carries out and does have true versatility.

She was amazing in Devil Wears Prada with Anne Hathaway.

I enjoyed Meryl Streep in The Devil Wears Prada (2006) in one of the best female performances of the year. In looking at her cinematic history, I was surprised to find that it started in 1977, 29 years ago, thus barely missing my 30 year cut-off date for mystaying power list that I posted last year. She hit it big in 1995 in The Bridges of Madison County
