I really like your choices, Monkey, but I'm going to differ on two. I'm more interested in Freeman's actual performances than the movies themselves, but my list is as follows:

Street Smart
Glory
The Shawshank Redemption
SE7EN
Driving Miss Daisy

"Naked Woman, Naked Man
Where did you get that nice sun tan?"

You know, I was gonna put "Driving Miss Daisy" on the list, but I really enjoyed these other movies a bit more. I've never seen "Street Smart". Is that really the number 1 movie on your list? If it is, I guess I better check it out. Big Grin

I certainly believe that Unforgiven is a better film than Driving Miss Daisy, but I think Morgan's complex performance is stronger. I put Street Smart at the top because I believe that many people haven't seen it and that was Freeman's calling card, at least after Brubaker, where he proved he could be scarier than hell.

I'm moving this to the Actors thread.

Wait a sec., are these the five best movies he was in, or our five favorite performances? I'm going with the latter. I would include The Electric Company, but that's not a movie.

In no order.

Million Dollar Baby
Se7en
Nurse Betty
Glory
The Power of One
