Do you think he will make it in Hollywood? Or do you think he will peak in a few years and not hear from him again?
I know Hollywood is trying to find the next big thing that will bring in the money like they use to have with a A++ actors of the pass. He has the looks. But the movies I have seen him in...I just can't get into him. I am not sure why. Maybe when he ages a little bit maybe I'll enjoy him more.

Yes he has. I am just wondering if he can keep on top of the feeding chain. I myself haven't found a reason to spend a ticket to see him. Maybe it's because he such eye candy. And it is hard to get pass that. At lest for me. It's like being a blond. You think all blonds are dumb. Which of course isn't true.
I am not sure, there is just something missing.
I am like that with Brad Pitt and some of the other eye candy out there.

I've never seen an actor being in so many movies in so short of a time! In the past 2 months, hes been in Sky Captain and I Heart Huckabees, and in the next month, hes going to be in Alfie and the narrator in The Series of Unfortunate events. I always thought movies took atleast a couple weeks to make.

Oh, that's just the beginning. He's also in "The Aviator" and this movie "Closer" with Julia Roberts. Both are being released this month.

He said it took him 2 years to make all these movies. Then they all come out at once. I say less is more.

I like him well enough. He was good in "Road to Perdition", "Gattica", and "Enemy at the Gates". Those are probably my three favorite movies of his. He's a good actor, but not a real draw for me. He'll make it. I think he already has. 2004 was his year in terms of output.

I think he will always have work. I am just was wondering if he'll be as big as Cruise, Pitt, Hanks ect. You just say their name and people will put money down.
I thought he was okay in Perdition. I really couldn't get into Enemy At The Gates. And Cold Mountain just couldn't get into. But I am looking forward in seeing Closer with Clive Owen and him. It is a dark movie about relationships. It's not because of Jude Law for me it is for Clive Owen and Portman.

I think he is a good actor but is overdoing it. If you want to be known to the public as a good actor and be popular, you have to select roles carefully, not just take everyone that is offered to you. Im sure many of the actore as Cruise and Hanks are offered more roles than he is, but they chose carefully. This may be due to the fact that he is not as big of a star as them, and has to stay in with doing a lot of movies, but you dont need to do this many.

I tried to watch Ladykillers yesterday and just couldn't get though it. I really wanted to see Hanks do something funny. He has been doing mostly drama. This just wasn't it.

Along with "The ladykillers" you can add "Polar Express", that supposedly costed a hundred or so million to create but still lost to "The incredible" a movie in its second week. And you can add "The Terminal". He just hasn't been reading the scripts lately.

I probably shouldn't bring up Michael Caine since he has been in his share of crap, but he has won two Oscars and was making as many movies for several years as Jude Law is now. Maybe it's something about the role of Alfie. I do think the 1966 "Alfie" is one of the best films of the 60s, so I didn't really want to see a remake, but I'll check it out when it comes out on DVD. I'd cut Law some slack for now. Give him a chance to work and grow. I thought he was very good in "Cold Mountain", even though the circumstances of the romance and the outcome can really frustrate you.

I was just about to say some where around the same thing. He needs to grow. And I also think he needs get pass that pretty boy look of his. I seem to remember him making comment once that he would wish people would look pass his looks and see him as an actor.
And it isn't his fault that all these movies came out at the same time. And I agree that Alfie just wasn't his movie. And that is to bad. I really want to see him succeed.

Jude Law is getting mixed reviews for Closer. I guess Clive Owen is dancing rings around him. I have yet seen the movie. And I am looking forward in seeing it. I am not really intrested in Julia and Jude as I am looking forward in seein Natalie and Clive.

Right now in the exact past three months, he has been in six movies.

Sky Captain and the WOrld of Tomorrow

I Heart Huckabees

Alfie

Closer

The Aviator

The Series of Unfortuanate Events.

Im sorry but dont movies take a little longer than 2 weeks each??? I know they werent all probably done in the same time period that is A LOT Of movies by one actor released in a very short amount of time.

And the strange thing is all of those films were wonderfully original. You can argue about the quality but there as never been a film quite like any of the above six (with the exception of maybe "Alfie" but even that is a brave decision). I think Hollywood needs more Jude Laws!!!!
