Well, I've already spilled the beans around here that Humphrey Bogart and Alec Guinness are my two favorite male actors, and I'm afraid that many members/visitors don't know what I'm talking about. Well, numero tres would have to be Jack Nicholson, for everything, but especially from "Easy Rider" through "One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest." Of course, Dustin Hoffman, from "The Graduate" through "Marathon Man" is primo too. My favorite female actors would have to include Katharine Hepburn, Audrey Hepburn, Ellen Burstyn and Deborah Kerr. Does anybody have any favorite actors they would like to share? They can attract you by their talent, looks, or whatever you want.

Katherine Hepburn is my favourite female actor. She carries herself with amazing dignity in all her films and has the strongest screen presence I have ever seen in a woman. Its hard not to fall in love with her for the brief period that it takes to watch one of her films.

My two favorite reasons, vis-a-vis, Hackman are "French Connection II" and "Mississippi Burning." Honestly, acting doesn't get much better than that. Audrey Hepburn was just so lovable/incredible...I loved her in "Roman Holiday", but I also loved her in "Two For the Road", "Breakfast at Tiffany"s", "The Nun's Story", and "Sabrina." [maybe I should include "My Fair Lady"]

I'm with you ; if you don't fall in love with Kate during "Bringing Up Baby" or "The Philadelphia Story", then you must either be brain-dead or a mo-fo liar.

Well now I have to jump on the Audrey Hepburn bandwagon. But she really is my favorite. I grew a rather unhealthy "Breakfast at Tiffany's" obsession when I was in high school (It's still one of my favorite movies of all time, racist supporting characters notwithstanding) and it grew into an Audrey Hepburn obsession. I think she'll always be one of my favorites, since I've read her biographies and she's just an amazing person, even off screen.
Other favorite actresses are: Tilda Swinton, Gilda Radner, and Rita Hayworth. I like variety.
My favorite actor is William Powell (The Thin Man). I am so in love with him ... he's so charismatic and not only is wonderful at the drunkenly witty one-liners, but also can convey a lot with a look, and there's something to be said for that.
Other favorite actors: Benicio del Toro (although this is mostly because I find him overwhelmingly sexy, but I also admire his skills), Clark Gable and I guess I'll bring along my Harrison Ford thing from way back.
As for male actors there are a number of guys I think are quite good. Eric Bana's performance in "Chopper" and his stand-up is just fantastic, but its a pity his international roles have been .. ahem ... crap.
I respect Brad Pitt's performances in movies like "Seven" and "Fight Club" and I really like how he doesnt just stick to giant Hollywood blockbusters.
Harrison Ford was great in Star Wars and Bladerunner though it s***s me to no end how many crappy roles he has been in. Same deal with Robert DeNiro, though "Taxi Driver" and "Raging Bull" more than make up for his lesser performances.
Morgan Freeman is great though he is a bit of a typecast of himself. I cant remember the last time he played a movie with a role that wasnt that of a wise older veteran type guy.
Though, there is one male actor who I fall in (a plutonic) love with every film he does. That guy being Steve Buscemi. Seriously, all that guy has to do is open his mouth (or put lipstick on it) and I am roaring with laughter. But hes actually a really good serious actor too. The thing that really attracts me to him, is his roles all seem to be uniquely his, as if he has taken a role and made it his own.

Max Von Sydow! He has been in three of my favorite movies, The Seventh Seal, The Exorcist and Conan the Barbarian! I also love Bruce Campbell, Bubba Hotep totally reaffirmed my appreciation for his talent. The one actor though that I can't get enough of is Christopher Lee! His mere prescence in a film sends tingles up my spine!
"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas
I think my three favorite actors are Jeff Goldblum, Harrison Ford, and Morgan Freeman. Although none of these actors are very versatile in their rolls the roll they do play is fantastic. Goldblum is always highly intelligent character (Big Chill and Jurassic Park), Ford plays the president/jack ryan/indiana jones type and always gets beat up but manages to save the day. Freeman always plays the wiser older gentleman, but he does it so well.
If I had to pick a favorite actress I would have to say Kate Hudson. I don't think she's that great of an actor but her looks will take your breath away.
Even though I am a big fan of Tom Cruise, Jack Nicholson, Johnny Depp and Tom Hanks, my favourite actor has to be the God of Comedy, Jim Almighty, The Rubber Faced King, the one and only:
Steve Buscemi is God! Even his performance in "Spy Kids" is cool and zany. I also really like Chris Walken, Nicolas Cage (in un-action roles), and Jack Nicholson.
Favorite actor of all time is James Stewart. Every performace is captivating. Other than that, I love to watch Gene Hackman and Denzel. Even if the film is sub-par, those two never give sub-par performances. Andy Garcia is another one of my favorite actors who also happens to be one of the more underrated and underused actors in Hollywood. I have to mention Morgan Freeman as well. The man is amazing. He can also make a lousy film watchable.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face

I've honestly never seen any of Shaq's "movies", so I guess I have something to look forward to, but the fact that he and Kobe couldn't win any NBA Championships in the last two years 2X5 makes me wonder if he was taking his "movie career" too seriously.
Of course, my problem is "am I takin' the bait, or what?"

I can't forget Al Pacino. He never gets dull. He has a way of pulling you in and holding you captive to every word he says. If you haven't seen it, watch Looking For Richard. It is a movie Pacino put together with a bunch of other actors about Shakespear's Richard III. They all sit around and talk about the play and rehearse lines...Kevin Spacey, Alec Baldwin...it's so much fun to watch if you love great acting.

For Drama: - Tim Roth (doesn't get nearly enough credit or roles, even with his Oscar winning performance in Rob Roy) - Dustin Hoffman (good in Wag the Dog, but excellent in Rainman) - Denzel Washington (Training Day - need I say more)
For Comedy: - Woody Allen (pulls out one-liners a mile a minute) - Charlie Caplin (classic)
For Action: - Eric Bana (Hector in Troy was great)
