Before the Kill Bills, I was never a huge fan of Uma Thurman. I mean, she did a pretty good job in Pulp Fiction, but I think pretty much anyone could have filled that role. But her performance in the Kill Bills was incredible! Especially the flashback (after she gets buried) to her training. I hope she gets some more solid non-Tarantino-movie roles in the future.

I will admit that Kill Bill gave Uma the chance to show off her acting/athletic skills, but ever since she got naked in Dangerous Liasions, she has been undisputably one of the most beautiful women in the world (actually the naked part has nothing to do with her beauty, but it might have gotten some dogs/men to notice.)

I think she's a terrible actress. Considering the type of film Tarantino was making, I wouldn't be suprised if that's why he had her in the leading role.

To be quite honest, I've never paid enough attention to her acting because they fact is she is just cool as shit, and I think that vibe is enough to entertain me.
I really did not like Kill Bill 1 and really had no desire to go the second one. Honestly I had never really been a huge Uma fan. I thought she was attractive but not the knock out that everyone raved about There's Something About Mary. The first time she caught my attention was a week ago at the MTV movie awards. She looked unbelievable. If you get a chance to check it out if you are a big Uma fan.

Uh...There's Something About Mary? That wasn't Uma, that was Cameron Diaz (who's way hotter than Uma by the way. Remember The Mask? She was bangin' in that movie).

I have to disagree. Something about dating that hack Justin Timberlake was a super duper turn-off from Cameron Diaz---who I dont think's as good an actor as Uma Thurman. Now, the sweaty tough chick in yellow clothes thing that Uma's got going on----
Uma was actually very good as a blind girl in Jennifer 8. While most of her performances have been enjoyable with a few exceptions (avengers, Batman and Robin) I am still waiting for her to really break out and blow us away.

Yea, well you see this one? This was my dream, my wish....and it didn't come true. So I'm taking it back, I'm taking them all back. -Face

I loved her Poison Ivy performance, she was the only reason I watched Batman & Robin all the way through. But then, she was the reason I went to see it in the first place.
I'm a long-time Uma fan.

I have never warmed up to Uma. I don't even find all that attractive. She's been in films I've liked such as PULP FICTION and LES LIASONS DANGEREUSE, but she has been in her share of stinkers such as EVEN COWGIRLS GET THE BLUES, a misfire from Gus Van Sant that I didn't see. She was also in the film version of THE AVENGERS, another film that I didn't see that was castigated by the critics.

Yes, The Avengers (1998) was a really big disappointment that never came close to the original television series with Diana Rigg and Patrick MacNee. As for Uma Thurman, I don't think she falls into the traditional female model image and yet she can as a female be sufficient provocative to be somewhat enticing. She doesn't have great toenails as was obvious from Kill Bill that I thought was rather courageous of her. Her stylized performance was effective. While she's not among my favoriate actresses, I don't discount her and I found her performances entertaining, if not great, in:
The Truth About Cats and Dogs (1996), interestingly written by Audrey Wells, director of Under the Tuscan Sun (2003). Gattaca (1997). Paycheck (2003), again with that "inane" according to some Ben Affleck.

I liked Uma best in the first film I recall seeing her star in- as Maid Marian in the 1991 tv movie version of "Robin Hood". Patrick Bergen was cast as Robin, Edward Fox as Prince John, and Jeroen Krabbé as Marian's uncle, the Baron Daguerre. I think this movie was shown in theatres in Europe. I don't recall it recieving good reviews but I enjoyed it all the same.
