He has yet proven anything to me. The young girls sure love him. Donna A. quote: Originally posted by E.M.: Otherwise known as Legolas. The Lord of the Rings are my all time favorite movies and he did a great job as Legolas. I also liked him in Pirates of the Carribean, but not as much. I don't think he is a great actor but is just slightly above mediocre.

He also seems to be popular with gay men too. I have a friend who is gay and he thinks he's one of the most beautiful men on screen right now. But, can he act? In Lord of the Rings I thought he did a good job, I didn't see Kingdom of Heaven and in Elizabethtown I thought he did a horrible job. So, maybe the jury is still out on that question.

I think Orlando Bloom is destined for character roles. He has proved he does not have the stuff to carry a movie, witness KINGDOM OF HEAVEN & ELIZABETHTOWN.

It's been a tough year for Orlando with the back-to-back flops of KINGDOM & ELIZABETH and recent article in "The New York Times" A&L section highlighting why he is not a movie star.
Orlando is laughing all the way to the bank, however, as he is inked for a total of $11M to act in two PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN sequels that are shooting simultaneously.
