The idea of a four album set where every disc is a different genre is really interesting to me, and the high metascore is a good endorsement.

But, sticker shock. Is it good enough to be worth the price?

I've only heard bits and pieces but to the you the truth I hate country so I guess I'm out...
Except this isn't bad it just doesn't appeal to me. For $30, I don't think it's worth it but I'd definitely cough up the money for a $40 three disc Magnetic Fields set.

If you consider the best album of the year worth buying, than the answer to your question is yes, it's worth the price.

I'll be honest. I'm one of those individuals that likes my country old and on'ry. Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams (the first one)...that kind of thing. I've always had a special dislike for Vince Gill, as well.

That said, I watch Imus in the Morning almost every morning and he's been playing tracks from this four-disc set for weeks now. Even had Vince Gill perform live on his show. I have to admit...it's not half bad. If you're a fan of Vince Gill, I'd say go for it.
