Anyone read the parallel stories about the Chicago World's Fair and the serial killer? It was so compelling (to me) that I read it in just over 2 days.
I read it some time ago. Very good book. I didn't know there ever was a worlds fair in Chicago or a serial killer, much less how big it was. I checked out some websites on the subject. Incredible.

I wrote in my book journal that the first 30 pages was the best non-fiction I had ever read. The rest of the book didn't quite live up to that, but it was very, very good.

Thanks for the word of warning; I think I'm somewhere around page 50 by now.
Kinda reminds me of how I thought that Barbara Kingsolver's "Poisonwood Bible" would have been a much better book if she'd ended it about 150 pages sooner.
