Any fans here? The new one, Shadows of the Sun is excellent.

I love the way this album sounds, but it kinda bored me. I need to listen again though, especially in different circumstances.

It reminds me of Coil quite a bit. I don't think you could even call them metal anymore. Fennesz is also on this record too, which is always a plus for me.

I can't get into this stuff. It reminds late period My Dying Bride and Paradise Lost.

Funny enough, I bought this when I went home for Thanksgiving (thanks goes out to Amoeba and Rasputin in Berkeley for lightening my wallet). Anyway, I ended getting this album - I need to take back what I said. I could see getting into this.

i liked "Shadows of the sun", especially the first tracks and the last one, which is the best. A sweet dark album, but not the kind of stuff i would play a lot...I think that i need to listen to "Blood Inside", which is (apparently) pretty great.

Also, i'm digging his soundtrack "Svidd Neger" made a couple of years ago. Ambient/classic/dubstep. interesting stuff.

I'm a big fan of Ulver's black metal trilogy. I find it harder to get into their more recent stuff. It's also harder to classify their newer records. Anyway, they will be doing their first concert in 15 years end of May this year. Unfortunately, I guess they won't be playing songs off Nattens Madrigal.
