I just wanted to get your opinions on this album. It's one of the few albums liked by critics and fans alike. As far as concept albums go, this one stands next to Pink Floyd's The Wall. Except... better. It's so good..The storyline alone is worthy of an award. And the storyline sets up a plethora of amazingly cool lines... The lyrics are some of the best in metal. I should also like to point out that this is way better than Dream Theater's Scenes From a Memory, another metal concept album. They're different types of albums, but I just love this storyline!
Operation: Mindcrime is a masterpiece. However...nobody should try and do a sequel to anything of that quality...as its bound to fail in comparison...which, i hate to say, operation: mindcrime 2, really did.
Love Operation Mindcrime - It's brilliant. It's really, REALLY sad but I sometimes get tears in my eyes listening to Geoff Tate sing his little heart out. I think it's because the whole thing is so pretentious, but it actually works! They must have put so much effort into that record.
I saw Queensryche live at Donnington in 1991 and they were amazing. True professionals and a kick up the arse to anyone who thought metal wasn't clever.
