However, I did get an e-mail back from the music editor today saying that at least one of Porcupine Tree's albums will be added by Monday at the latest (Fear of a Blank Planet). More may possibly be added, depending on what reviews can be found. Porcupine Tree is more ambient progressive rock than anything, but it's a step in the right direction.
True enough, this was added today. So, who do we have to @%$# around here to get bands added? I still don't understand why there are no albums from Parts & Labor. Mapmaker is one of my favorite albums this year, and has had numerous good reviews, and it's from a fairly major indie label (Jagjaguwar). I was just thinking of Pig Destroyer today. All the reviews I have read have been really positive (P4K~8.5, Stylus=B+), yet it is not listed on Metacritic. That's a shame, because it is actually one of the better albums of the year in any genre. ********************** Metal-Archives POTDquote: im looking for pretty much the most uninspired/unoriginal brutal and/or slam death. with little or no variation in vocals. stuff like disgorge(us) and condemned.

I've been a Pig Destroyer fan since their split 7" with Orchid back in 1998 and personally Phantom Limb is the record that I always wanted them to make. It trumps Terrifyer and Prowler in the Yard big time.

I was reading a review of Cephalic Carnage over at Stylus (which is going off-line forever on Halloween). I thought this particular review (by Cosmo Lee) would be of particular interest to those who have contributed to this thread, as it raises some of the same questions (even mentions metacritic), and it also demonstrates why I will truly miss Stylus: http://www.stylusmagazine.com/reviews/cephalic-carnage/anomalies.htm********************** Metal-Archives POTDquote: im looking for pretty much the most uninspired/unoriginal brutal and/or slam death. with little or no variation in vocals. stuff like disgorge(us) and condemned.

Because metal isn't that popular any more. Especially death and black.
