Question:
Metacritic doesn’t have reviews for any of Pig Destroyer’s albums, but pigdestroyer.net lists the following quotes…

One of REVOLVER Magazine's 10 "Future of American Metal" bands!
"One of the 10 Loud Rock Bands that will Destroy the Earth" - CMJ
"One of the 25 Most Important Bands in Metal" - ALTERNATIVE PRESS

…that have piqued Megatron’s interest in their new album, Terrifyer. Plus, their name is unequivocally awesome. So I ask you: Yay or nay?

Choices:
Yay; they rock my socks off
Nay; don't believe the hype

I agree with you that Pig Destroyer (and the album title Terrifyer) rocks pretty hard.

Do you think your topic will get more uptake under the Rock thread than Indie, Megatron?

I like what I have heard a lot, but have been having a difficult time tracking down their albums here. I have checked all the indie stores that are convenient for me to get to, but I'm sure the one that forces me to go a little out of the way will be the one has them!

I moved this to "Rock" because I thought the metalheads out there might see it here. The "Rock" thread doesn't explicitly say anything about metal and thrash, but it should...

They're good. Prowler in the Yard was an excellent album. I like Cripple Bastards, Assuck and the ilk better.

I like it a lot! Reminiscent of many grindcore bands to me, but coming from more of a punk sounds base, and without the warp speed drumming found in most grind. This might have been too slow for me during my grind-loving days, but it's perfect for where I'm at right now.
