I'm looking for Russian Militant Black Metal. Semi-good production is a plus, as are clean vocals (if kept to a minimum). Also looking for vocals in Russian. Basically like a Russian version of Absurd...

Not really. I started listening to the MySpace page, but it's a little to proggy for my taste. Do you really consider them to be metal? I sent for the free cd, so I'll give them a more thorough listen, but it won't be til 2008.

Anyway, what's your Top 10 list look like this year, D?

Ya they're metal. Of course this is ignoring other subgenre influences but who cares. There is some emo, some post-rock, and some prog but at its core it's metal.

I don't do Top 10 metal albums. I'm really specific in the metal I listen to and was actually disappointed with the metal I heard this year (just look at DEP). Wolves in the Throne Room was only okay. I hate Neurosis. I don't "get" Pig Destroyer. They're just another grind influenced band to me. They seem to be trying to do what Crowpath does and Crowpath is much better and much heavier/more brutal. Check out "Slipping" here (http://www.myspace.com/Crowpath). Also, Baroness never really tickled my fancy so ya. All the really alluring albums are dead to me. Also, Toby Driver's release of this year was underwhelming.

You hate Neurosis? Even Souls at Zero? I'll check out Crowpath, sounds interesting.

Well, that didn't take me very long. I did some listening. I don't think Pig Destroyer sounds anything like Crowpath. Pig Destroyer are much faster/noisier. Crowpath seems very simple in comparison, and somewhat doomy. Not that I don't like them, but I'm not sure I see why you are choosing them as a frame of reference for PD.

hey guys, i've never been to this site before but i was lookin' for some new tunes and i found this site through google...so i was like fuck ya. i'd like to start out by saying DFelon204409, i'm lovin' The Pax Cecilia so far. i've only heard the Tree and the Progress, fuckin' hell yeh buddy. if you like those guys, you should check out Cult of Luna http://www.myspace.com/cultofluna . some call them doomcore but i dunno, whatever you wanna call it, it's good stuff to relax and listen to. the songs they got on myspace there dont' give them enough credit cause they definetly got really good stuff on their other cds. now as for best albums of 2007, wouldn't call them the best of 2007 but there a decent listen:
The Dillinger Escape Plan - Iron Ore
The Agony Scene - Get Damned
Buckethead - Peppers Ghost ^_^

Runner-ups:
Serj Tankian - Elect The Dead
Apocalyptica - Worlds Collide (technically metal sorta)

Let Downs Frowner
The Lead Singer of Spineshanks new band, not sure if i totally like just yet. http://youtube.com/watch?v=iFxQAzCVUHo

Edit - new mudvayne song called Dull Boy if anyone is interested http://youtube.com/watch?v=2GFThpy_enw&feature=related
