Mastadon are wicked. I bought Laviathon not too long ago and while I'm not sure Im ready to jump on the "future of Metal" tag so many people want to give them. They are tremendous

Elements of the classic metal bands like prime era Metallica, epic riffing, a drummer who rolls like an angry storm at sea, heavy themes and imagery, blended with math rock and hardcore, interesting melodies and rhythms, 3 shouters who harmonize, and technical skill in abundance. That's my take.
"If it were beneficial, their father would produce children already circumcised from their mother. Rather, the true circumcision in spirit has become profitable in every respect." -Jesus, from the Gospel Of Thomas

Mastodon is 1 of 2 metal bands I listen to (the other being dimmu borgir)... and I must say, they're AMAZING. I love leviathon. I'm seeing them at the end of January! YAY! (I almost shat myself when I saw a band I like playing near me...)
