american metal is awful, simply put. seriously they have no talent, listen to some real metal eg. Summers End, Emperor, Mayhem, Vomitory, Immortal, Venom, Rotting Christ, 1349, Bathory, Marduk, Naglfar, Shores of Sheol, Decapitated, Judas Iscariot, Calvarium, Abigor, Old Darkthrone, Deathchain, Mactatus, Carpathian Forest, Borknagar, Obtained Enslavement, Tartaros, Covenant, Dissection, Gorgoroth, �smegin, Dark Forest, Elexorien, Folkearth, Lumsk, Moonsorrow, Storm, Turisas, Tyr, Arcturus, Ulver, Burzum, Mortiis, Immolation, Satyricon, Myrkskog, Setherial, Ensiferum, The Berzerker, Limbonic Art, Tidfall, God Dethroned, Thy Primordial, Unholy Ghost, Enslaved, Dying Fetus, Nordafrost, Absu, Vintersorg, Helhammer, Merrimack, Enthroned, Vomit Orchestra, Imperanon, Finntroll, Korpiklaani, and so on.

I don't care for slipknot's music much. I did see them being interviewed in a segment for the Tonight Show, and they were ridiculously rude and aloof, almost sociopathic. I know the Tonight Show probably isn't their cup of tea, but is there a rule somewhere that people in metal bands have to be a**holes? Are there any decent citizens in metal?

One of the many crap nu metal bands of the '90s, in my opinion. A pathetic image which is clearly designed for nothing more then to gain attention from kids and a bunch of songs with boring, horribly whiny lyrics. Way, way too many band members as well, in my opinion. Neither of their two extra percussionists bring anything to their songs that Jordison doesn't. From what I've heard (admittedly not much since I try to avoid them) their DJ and sound sampler don't bring anything useful either. To give the devil their due though, I do consider Joey Jordison to be a decent drummer and a guitar playing friend of mine considers Mick Thompson to be a brilliant guitarist. I certainly wouldn't say they were the best metal band around though.

I used to listen to slipknot constanly for two years thinkin they were the bst band out there. I listend to Iowa mostly. Then one day i woke up and realized how bad they suck. They cant compete against bands such as tool in musical talent on every level. After seeing disasterpieces and corey taylor asks the crowd to kneel down and no body listens to them and he just curses at them for 5 mins you realize how little control he has and how their whole image is just smoke and mirrors. Their target audience is wannabes and posers. They SUCK just like most metal bands out there today

Slipknot (and I have heard plenty of their stuff) are fuckin' godawful. Thats enuff time spent thinking about that blight on metal history...
