How is this turd the highest rated album on MC right now with an 89? Kill me now. Please. I hate this band with such a passion. It's right up there with Meshuggah. I know a lot of people love their Opeth and Meshuggah, but it's just so meh for me. You can probably pick up these albums at Starbucks by now.

Could you explain why you hate this album so much? It sounds like you didn't even listen to it, since you're associating the band with Meshuggah and Starbucks.

Well, I don't like this genre, whatever you call it. Math metal. Melodic metal. Progressive metal. And Opeth seem to be the kings at the moment. It's just metal for audiophiles, if you ask me.

I will defend Meshuggah... well a little bit, i'm not a superfan or anything, all i have is the new one so i'm not some math-metal Dream Theater geek or something. But Opeth at an 89 is a little absurd, but it probably won't get too many more reviews than it has right now, so just know that Opeth is a shitload better than Portest the Hero (heard like 2 songs and wanted to stab myself with a spoon).
Yeah, Meshuggah is okay, i prefer Gojira because they're heavier and no one really likes them. Meshuggah does have some pretty lame-ass artwork though, but what do you expect? It's metal, man. Throw up the devil-horns, put on your denim jacket and cut loose.

Haha, yeah, they're absolutely HEINOUS (musically that is), so I'm at least a little happy that Opeth isn't nearly as bad as them. I will say that i have this album, and have yet to give it a run-through. Seems boring, too wanky, and just plain monotonous to my way of thinking. (A full run-through, i've heard songs here and there)
Now that i think about it, Meshuggah is a little boring as well. I mean, yeah, they're good in some kind of metal playlist, but i can't listen to more than 2 Meshuggah songs back to back... too damned tedious. Duh duh-buh duh dun dun, dun deeeeeeeee bun dun dun deeeeeeeee dun dun, bun deeeeeee

man Mikael from Opeth is soooo much better in Bloodbath, Bloodbath is hands down my favorite deathmetal band. I was so happy to hear that he rejoined to do the Wacken Carnage, the new EP and more to come. Fuck Opeth, Bloodbath is better Mikael if your reading
