As for beating the 'level 1' dungeons, I used kecleon and tentacruel to get to you (the furthest I've managed) and used Kecleon and a pass scarf in purity forest and was killed on the 84th floor by ponyta's ember. I hear charizards also good beacuse it levels up fairly fast and comes with heat wave wich affects the whole room
