Anyone have thoughts on this game?

I picked it up as soon as it was available last week and have been having such a great time playing this one again...a portable CT...this was on my dream list about 4 years ago when the DS launched.

It seems there is a divide on this game, those who played it back in the 90's and those who were pooping their pants in the 90's. The graphics are sprites and look great on the DS screen, I have not used the touch controls as the DS unit itself is designed as the original control scheme as far as button layout - so I'm rolling old school controls.

The gameplay is just fantastic, as a matter of fact it escapes me why this formula seemed to be missed or ignored for use in other RPG's...I've found that aside from Golden Sun, this is the only RPG I really love.

Kudos Square, thanks for this great gift...what took so long? Ultimately this is the exact same game from 1995. Still worth the purchase for any DS collection.

I'm still planning to cop it once my paycheck kicks on the 15th. Question, though: Are the anime FMV sequences from the PlayStation version still implemented in the story?

Chrono Trigger really was the first RPG I ever loved to death. But if you're a fan of old-school story-telling styles then pick yourself up a Tales game.

Yes they are, you can opt to turn them on or off at any point in the game.Hope you are already enjoying this one, great game. It just moves so smoothly, both story wise and gameplay wise.
