Every year I have a few guilty pleasures. Last year it was Britney Spears 'Blackout' and this year their haven't been many besides maybe Robyn. So what are your favorite guilty pleasures of the year. It can be an artist,song, album.... Whatever you want it just has to be music and it has to be something you that's so sweet that it rots your inside that you are listening to it... So start posting.
I haven't and don't plan on giving Coldplay a fighting chance, but I do recall hearing a few of their new songs recently without discovering a constant stream of shit flowing out of my mouth.

Likewise, I haven't listened to the album and don't particularly plan on it, but they played on The Daily Show not too long ago and I found myself liking that song much more than I should have.
Maybe I'm just a blog-hype sucker, but Black Kids' Partie Traumatic is the most exuberant pop album I've heard in ages. It's the sound of a talented young band fueled by lust and frustration and longing and all the things that every post-adolescent experiences. Only instead of writing emo-rock, they've channeled all of that into explosions of hooky neo-new-wave goodness. It might be silly and overhyped, but I really like it just the same.

All too often I read through these forums and wonder why the fuck I waste so much time here. I can't believe Coldplay and Sons and Daughters are the 'worst' of the guilty pleasures out there. Give me a fucking break. How about some Fergie, or Rihanna?

i'm actually having an uncharacteristically hard time coming up with any guilty pleasures for the year. and had that fergie song "clumsy" been released this year, best believe i'd be mentioning it. or it seems i've mentioned it regardless. hah, i'll report back if i get around to listening to the new alanis or jewel albums. please excuse my questionable taste.
oh, and does jakob dylan count? i really like "seeing things." i guess i'm only slightly embarrassed to admit that, and i have always liked the wallflowers songs i've heard on the radio.

N.E.R.D. is one of my longtime guilty pleasures, especially In Search Of. Their new one, Seeing Sounds, definitely has some shit tracks, but there are a lot of solid, enjoyable songs on there (ie "Spaz", "Yeah You", "Love Bomb", "You Know What")

I'd consider Coldplay a guilty pleasure if I enjoyed them... but I can't think of anyguilty pleasures from this year. I don't listen to Fergie nor Rihanna, sorry.

Yeah, I like Missy too. When she raps, anyway. I don't like her R&B tracks very much, but songs like "Gossip Folks" and "Get Ur Freak On" are pretty classic.
while Robyn's album is full of sugary pop, i don't think it automatically counts as a guilty pleasure. it has more critical support and hipster appeal than almost any other album released domestically this year. when i think guilty pleasure- i think of what's promoted to radio. anyway, here's a few true "guilty pleasures" of mine from the year that I can't get out of my head from 2008:
